Two really good games last night. I didn't really care for Gentry's rotations but maybe he's just trying to test some thing since they have so many new players. He needs to shorten that rotation though. With Siakam fouled out they should have took advantage in OT but they fell apart instead. Toronto did a really good job picking up that W.

The late game was really fun. Obviously, it's still early but man if the Lakers can't beat the Clippers with PG, then just imagine once he comes back... if they get Iggy too, then they're defense is going to be something. Also, Danny Green last night whooo. He really kept them in the game with that hot 3rd quarter. If it weren't for him they would have really gotten worked. I think AD and Bron will be fine but there workload would worry me if I were a Lakers fan.

Anyway, Celtics tonight and first full night of b-ball! Can't wait!

Oddly enough the Lakers would have won last night had Bron and AD played better, opposite of what you would expect to say. Not a huge fan of how they looked on offense. It's hard to just stick one guy in the post and try to force feed the ball into him against modern defenses. Felt like too often the ball never came back out, once Bron and AD started to look a bit fatigued it was basically over because they didn't have an offense to fall back on. Danny Green's hot hand kept it close. It felt like the "we are going to play through AD" stuff was applied a bit too literally.. Felt like they weren't doing enough to try and get him or other players open.

I thought their defense looked great. Some slow help rotations once McGee was out, but overall the rest of the defense was really solid. Clippers shot the lights out, still only managed 112 on a night where shooting that well usually gets you one of those 130 point nights.

Been saying it now for 5-6 years, Danny Green is still the most underrated defensive player in the league. Kawhi abused KCP once that matchup presented itself.

Clippers looked good but with so many guys shooting that well it's hard to tell how sustainable that is.. Before Lou came in the offense was pretty ugly, they don't have a play-maker in that starting group.. Maybe having PG's scoring would alleviate some of that. Maybe it's going to be PG's spot, but playing Patterson over Harrell, Green, Harkless also looked like an odd decision. Team had more energy with any of the other 3 on the floor, Patterson seems to offer little outside of spot up 3's and he's too slow to the glass and on defense.

Harrell basically changed the momentum of the game when he came in.. Nobody from the Lakers side was matching his energy. I thought JaVale did an ok job, but I don't remember him hardly playing at all outside the first of the game. And up until Dwight found his footing late, Harrell was outworking Davis and Dwight everywhere on the floor.

I think the gameplan was to try and use their size advantage and they overdid it a bit, not nearly enough LBJ/ AD P&R's...not to mention AD just isn't that type of post player.

Its annoying and funny at the same time that people say lakers should have won with out PG playing for the Clippers when the lakers where with out several guys to. Lakers didnt have Kuz last night or 2 of there PG. No i am not saying that Kuz is has good has PG but Kuz is the one other guy besides LJ and AD that can create his own shoot for the lakers and who can score around 20 points most of the time. Also being down 2 PG hurts. With those 3 guys out it hurts the lakers bench a lot. So yeah PG was out for Clippers last night but yet ever one acts like lakers where at full streaght and dont have there own injures. Also its 1 game you can never ever judge teams on 1 game and with lakers having a lot of new players it will take a little bit of time to figure out rotations and for lakers to play there best.

I think AD is the type of player you have moving all the time. Just don't stand there and put a Target on him. When the ball is hoping it's literally impossible to focus on James or AD.

It why I think the Lakers should of kept Walton. He runs the same offense as Alvin. Who both are from the Warriors under Kerr. Like I said many times last night. AD outside should be attacking Bigs feet and pick and rolling people to death.

Now LeBron needs a PG? Just a month ago some of you were saying he is the PG.

He’s best with the ball in his hands regardless of what happened last night. That’s on Vogel & Kidd to figure out how to implement it.

Yeah, we'll see how they play going forward.

They played a lot different in the preseason, a lot more motion. It really seemed like they had a gameplan for the Clips and it just didn't work out. Cant really draw any conclusions from last night.

I always wished AD had a better back to the basket game though. Harkless is a good defender but should have been BBQ chicken everytime he was on him.

Might have been different had they hit some shots too.. Role guys shot well, LeBron had quite a few that just rimmed out, I think Davis had 2-3 air-balls on some decent looks.. Never got a good rhythm on anything outside the paint.

He is good with the ball in his hands but there are so many good PG in the league that if you dont have one its going to hurt a lot and like i said with the injures the lakers had with out Kuz and without the other 2 guys it hurts the teams depth a lot. If Kuz is heathly and you have him come of the bench he adds a lot of scoring there. If he starts some of those guys that shouldn't be playing like 30 minutes can play less.

I just think in the second half the Clippers did an amazing job of clogging the lane. Confusing the ball handler. Look at Pat. You would think Green was 0-7 from 3 watching that clip.

(Green is also the only person who kept moving.)

                            These are the plays

Meh, LeIso is always going to be a LeBron Team offense.

I'll believe the Lakers will play a different offense when I see it.
