James = KG, Duncan by next season?

Lebron is only 20 and probably won't get MVP b/c of his age and lack of experience, but look at what he's doing this year. His team is good, 22-14, and yet his team is not that talented, not like the Spurs, and probably no better than Minnesota. James is averaging 24.8 points per game if you include tonights game, and 7.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists. he's also averaging close to 1 block and 2.5 steals.

James has some flaws, like being an average defender on the ball, but he is good at creating turnovers, and does a good job on the defensive boards. Hes not ever gonna be the force KG and Duncan are blocking shots b/c he's shorter, and not as good rebounding. But he's good at steals and can become a great defender with time.

Offensively I think he's probably better than both b/c he can break defenses down with penetration, hit 3 pointers, and is better at making his teammates better, look at his assists this year, he's averaging 7.2 assists, and he doesn't have guys like Amare, Q Richardson, Shawn Marion, or Joe Johnson like Nash does. He also shoots a high % from the wing, which is harder than it is for Duncan and KG b/c they usually play closer to the basket and get set up by teamates down low. James is 49 % from the field, which is about the same as KG & Duncan.

I still think James defense(1 on 1) isn't good enough and he isn't quite good enough rebounding to be = to KG and Duncan, but he can handle the ball, bring it up court better than Duncan, and even KG. he also has better court vision and is more versatile scoring. KG can't quite shoot outside like Lebron, and Lebron can get to the basket better from the wing, than either guy. Lebron is even starting to post up really well, not like those 2, but Lebron is getting close b/c he's a 3 and most of the time he's bigger than his defender b/c he's about 6'9" and has a 7'1 wingspan.

Right now I'd take Duncan and KG, b/c they're more proven and James is still young. But I think by next year, if james puts hard work in again like this summer, he'll catch those 2. Not better, but about the same dominance, by next year. I think all he's got to do is work on D this summer, and improve a little on his shot, dribble, and just learn from this year. Does anyone agree that James probably will catch those 2 by next year, and be considered that kinda force, or am I pushing it. I consider those 2 amazing players and likely gonna go down amongst the 10-15 best players, probably 10 guys will be considered better when it's all said and done, but put them down somewhere between #10-15, amongst Hakeem, Malone, etc. in that pantheon.

Man WTF are you guys pulling up these excuses for James not winning MVP? Nobody is playing better than him right now. Please excuse me, but someone has to me mentally ill not to give Lebron the MVP award.

Are you serious? You think he should get it? Or are you being sarcastic? I think it should come down to Nash, Duncan, KG, and Lebron/Shaq/Wade also. Statistically, KG has the best numbers, then Lebron, Wade right with him although he doesn't have the steals, or rebounds Lebron does. But record wise obviously Shaq/Wade/Duncan are up there, but they have good teammates, shaq/wade help eachother, Duncan has parker, manu, and barry(even though he hasn't played well). Nash to me is slightly overrated, in that he has TONS of talented players around him, but it is unique in that w/o Nash that team REALLY suffers, but that is in large part b/c in that situation a point guard that can push is really important, whereas on other teams that don't have talent that relies on speed, and running, Nash isn't quite as important. What's funny is that Dallas is nearly the same team w/o Nash, ironically, in terms of winnig.

until James takes him team to the finals and wins it, he will fall short of Duncan, but can still match KG.

Re: James = KG, Duncan by next season?

So does that mean that KG isn't Kobe's equal b/c Kobe has rings and Finals experience. I think that is a false premise, that you have to win Finals or get there. It's also unfair to say James can't equal Duncan b/c he hasn't made the Finals. James may never have a David Robinson, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli supporting cast to play with. And james is 20, were not comparing careers, we're comparing play night after night.

LOL isn't their enough Lebron threads already. Can we wait until he actually does something of real substance before we tab him as the second coming? Duncan as a rookie led his team to the championship shouldn't that make him God? I'm a big Lebron fan but let's give him some time. Comparing Lebron to KG and Duncan is comparing apples and oranges, they play different positions. It's like comparing Jordan to Shaq. The only valid comparison is how they lead thier team and make others around them better. Saying that Lebron brings the ball up court better than KG and Duncan well geez that isn't their job, they're PF\C. That's what the point guard is for.

Lebron is going to get better and better each season, so you might as well compare the numbers now while they're still close.
