Walton I don't know much about. But from what I've heard is that he went vegan? And that's when all the injures started. Again I have no clue on We Walton.

No, Roy and Durant play different positions. I grew up in Portland, was there during these times and Portland was in a position where they needed a SF and Center. Despite there being reports that Odens body, more specifically his knees, were showing signs of wear more consistent with someone much older then he was they took him. Hindsight is one thing but they had a spot for Durant and Oden had many question marks, acting like it was all about need isn't entirely accurate.

I don't spend a ton of time on Twitter but made an exception to see what folks are saying about Jerry Krause and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty entertaining.

He was a terrible pick no matter how you want to slice it.

        I guess it's a agree to disagree.

I just checked to make sure I wasn't crazy. So Portland Martell Webster and Travis Outlaw at SF. They had Rudy Fernandez overseas. Had Joel P at center. LaMarcus Aldridge at PF.
Joel P sucks... Lol. Yeah I totally understand pulling for Oden. It's super easy to call a pick a ****ty pick.

If you could post any of the Oden injury stuff. I'd love to see it. Because I spent a lot of time tracking players. I don't think I ever heard any injury concerns about injury for him.

Just to refresh myself on Oden. He broke his hand. Missed a bunch of games. He was beasting future guys. https://youtu.be/DnXNHBBvOZ8
And he killed those future NBA guys.

The only regrettable thing about replaying this Jerry Krause stuff is he's not around anymore to see/hear it.

I'm imagining LeBron sitting back watching this doc on his idol, and then seeing his phone blow up with thousands of people telling him sucks. Lol. People dumb.

That was the part my wife realized at the end. Was he's not here to defeat himself. Which kind of sucks. But I mean really. Who says a coach who has lead you to 5 championship is coaching his final year with the Bulls. But doesn't have a reason. Your better off saying "No comment. I can't comment on the future. I'm focused on this year".... Why create all this weird ****?

Looking forward to MJ going up against the Bad Boys in Ep. 3. And I don't mean Mike Lowrey.

                  MJ wants to administer pain.

The deep, visceral hatred we Bulls fans had for those Pistons was an actual, tangible thing.

Not gonna keep it going off topic but Webster was more of a SG, Outlaw certainly wasn't prohibiting them from drafting Durant and Rudy overseas was a guard as well.

                      R.I.P. Jerry Krause.

But, if anyone out there deserves getting dirt kicked on his grave, it's Jerry Krause. The guy was a meanspirited shrew with a serious Napoleon-type complex. It's impossible to tell the story of MJ's Bulls without mentioning its #1 enemy. And that #1 enemy wasn't LA, Detroit, NY, MIA, or Utah. It was personality clashes and being undermined by their own front office.

It was a two way street. As a metro Detroiter, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls introduced younger me to what irrational hatred was all about. Didn't get over that until Jordan's return in '95.

Q: "How's the transition been from college to the NBA?"

I think everyone in the world laughed at that. MJ goes under the category of players that do better in the NBA style of play. While on UNC he was in team system.

I felt like Oden was the correct pick. Portland had their versatile wing, ended up playing positions/roles 1-3 for them, and even though KD showed promise as a great scorer/shooter a wing scorer is relatively easy to come by in the league. They had a chance to add what looked like a dominant big man who would have given them interior scoring, rebounding, defense, as well as the missing piece to perhaps a dominant inside out duo with he and Roy.

Even fast forward just one year Portland added their SF in Batum. A move that likely would have happened regardless of Oden’s health. Had health allowed they would have moved forward with Roy, Batum, Aldridge, Oden, a quartet that likely could have won multiple rings.

Regardless when you factor in hindsight that’s twice now that Portland has selected an injury prone big man when they could have taken the two most (statistically) prolific scorers to ever play the game. At least in Oden’s case the talent was there and IMO still worth the risk. Not sure Bowie ever looked to be even remotely close to a Jordan-level prospect and drafting need in that instance was a moronic approach.
