Coach Bud is honestly near the bottom of my list of issues with they team but it is what it is. It’s clear at this point that he’ll be fired regardless of if a miracle occurs.

Gotta pray at this point that Giannis has too much pride to walk away and at least sign a short term deal to give himself and Milwaukee more time to try to get it done. If he ends up deciding he needs to move on, I suspect Milwaukee will let him walk for nothing and sink back into obscurity again.

Something tells me last year hurt more than this year for him.

They didn’t really put it together this playoffs for some reason. Last year they definitely didn’t expect to lose to Toronto.

I hate what this will cause in the media.

Even if they move certain players..will any FAs look at Milwaukee as a destination? I can see it with Dallas with players wanting to play with Luka. The Bucks? Not so sure.

If Giannis says he’s staying, I have no doubt the Bucks will be able to get ring chasers and stuff like they did this past offseason. They have no path to having cap space to sign any upper echelon guys anyways so that isn’t really a concern for me but minimum guys/MLE guys if they use it? I’m confident that they can get guys for that if Giannis agrees to at least play it out for one more year.

I suspect they’ll be pursuing trades this offseason regardless of what the deal is with Giannis. I’m probably more optimistic in general than most Bucks fans but I tend to think he’ll sign like a 2 year deal so he can hit his 10 years and be eligible for a bigger contract from there on out. Allows him to try to finish what he started while also maximizing his earnings (outside of the supermax which Im guessing he’ll reject) and keeping his options open/keeping pressure on the Bucks front office. But regardless, either he says he’s out and Milwaukee pursues trades like a mother****er or he says he’s in/doesn’t commit and the Bucks actively try to upgrade the roster around him, particularly the SG spot and backup PG.

Giannis has had his issues, but this is bad of a coaching performance as I've seen in a while. Bud just doesn't want make any adjustments or play his starters big minutes. It's what he does this time of the year but i figured he would change at some point.

the one thing I hate about this is the media like they have all season is going to jump on this and try to get Giannis out of there. It's the one area i have sympathy with Bucks fans about. I don't mind them looking like frauds though.

Giannis as good as he is still isn’t making big adjustments in reaction to opposing defenses either, I’m not sure the mental aspect of his game is up to par with the rest of it. Middleton year after year under-performs come playoff time so this isn’t anything new for him or Bledsoe.

Thats part of Giannis' issue but its still on Bud. Giannis trusts Bud (and to that effect, ANY head coach he has) with minutes and rotations and all of that. He's said countless times that he does whatever Bud tells him to do. Bud needs to get with the times and realize now isnt the time to keep guys fresh and get them on the court as much as possible.

Or the next coach needs to figure out what can take them over this hurdle to a championship.

All hope isn't lost. The Spurs (before Duncan), Mavericks, Cavaliers, etc. all had these same growing pains & "embarrassing" outcomes before winning.

I remember when the Lakers embarrassed them/"us" in consecutive playoffs after winning in '99. I thought Duncan was gonna bounce (to Orlando) and we'd never see another championship.

The team brought over Ginobili & found an absolute gem in Tony Parker at the end of the first - round. Four more championships came our way.

Be patient & hope for positive changes or internal improvement. Even if y'all lose this series, y'all aren't that far away.

Not exactly helping tbh... Dirk and Duncan were really just traditional bigs, Dirk just had a jump shot. They weren't some generational athlete like LeBron was with Cleveland, and he ended up jumping ship.

The thing is, Bud has actually made plenty of adjustments throughout the playoffs. People just tend to not notice adjustments if the outcome doesn’t change at all. For example, we started switching a lot more on screens like everyone was begging for and all that resulted in was the players looking even more lost than usual.

It’s also hard for me to care about Giannis playing 40+ minutes when he has the worst +/- in this series, he’s played like crap in at least 2 of the 3 games, and he’s literally bleeding and limping around the court.

There’s no path to winning a series against a good team if Giannis is going to hurt the team more than he helps it. There’s just no winning formula there.

I’m still in awe of that game last night. For Milwaukee to be a team that was regularly putting games to rest by the halfway point of the 3rd quarter to see them with a double digit lead in the 3rd last night and to lose by 15 is just insane. They got outscored by 27 in the 4th. It reminds me kind of the Indiana 26 point lead over the Cavs in 2017 but probably worse, because the Bucks are supposed to be the best team in the league.

Considering how they’ve looked since they’ve been in Florida...are you surprised by how they’re playing?

                        Jimmy Butler article from November:

“Mother------s act like I’m not a good basketball player,” Butler told Yahoo Sports. “Like for real. Just think about that. Like I can’t come in and make a huge difference."

It’s hard to picture someone his size going to a floater consistently but if anyone is going to bring back the skyhook if for no other reason than being a Buck, it should be him.

I’m just ready to see the reaction if they get swept and he dips out like people expect. Leaving OKC because you can’t beat Steph, Klay, and Dray? I can see it, and he got crushed. Going to Miami to learn how to win and overcome the Big 3? Understandable and we know how that went. Leaving because you can’t get over the juggernaut that is the Jimmy Butler Heat would be nuts.

Really doubt he leaves based upon whatever happens in the bubble. Having actual homecourt advantage, fans, and sleeping in your own bed instead of a bubble will make anyone think twice about whatever happens this season.

I’m assuming if he rejects the supermax they’re going to trade him so they don’t end up in a Kemba situation but there’s definitely a few ways it could play out.
