Let's hold our reservations about Lebron until the actual contest, he said today he's still open to it, but it depends on how his ankle injury that caused him to miss 2 games feels. I agree his dunk contest in high school was slightly unspectacular, but I also have a feeling he didn't bring his A game b/c he underestimated the competition and expectations for McDonalds Dunk Contest. At least if he competes, we can put to bed all the opinions and let his dunks speak for themselves. Bron's gonna need to bring it big time if he wants to hang w/ Josh Smith.

I think you misread what he said, he said he didn't want to be known as just a dunker in the game, and wanted to focus on other offensive techniques.

anyways, I heard he would go to dunk contest if he's 100% healthy, and said he's got dunks that nobody has seen before, so who knows.

actually no. i saw the interview numerous times as it was all over canadian sports channels...

someone asked him why he doesn't dunk as much and his EXACT words were
"I don't wanna dunk anymore"

anyways i hope he does participate, as much as i hate the guy he sure can dunk!

I think this would be entertaining.... as long as they dont do any dumb ish like add a wheel that decides what dunks they do!

Same reason Shawn Kemp never won any of the dunk contest's he was in.

This was when he was still being called "Man Child" he was nothing but pure and raw monster power, and that doesn't win dunk contest's.

What the ONLY reason Shawn Kemp didnt win is because he would always miss his dunks. If he would have caught any of those misses he would have won. The dude had power and style. I dont think Amare has style but if he does he will win. Power plus style is a beautiful thing .......look up Mr. Wilkins.
