Question for knowledgable NBA fans + Live players.
Can somebody post what styles that each team plays for the purpose of Live experimentation. For example I think poster MT_Nuts said the Lakers run a Inside Triangle 6 in Live? Or something similar. I am only a casual NBA fan and it would be great if someone knew what styles all of the teams play relative to Live. Could I use 2k3 (rental) to find out? Just checking here for a guy with "NBA smarts".Favorite Sports Teams

Re: Question for knowledgable NBA fans + Live players.
Haven't played Live but I doubt you'll ever get answers on this one for ALL teams. The Lakers is easy. The Triangle offense is the most famous in today's NBA and it travels with Phil. 2k3 doesn't have real NBA offenses so you won't find an answer there. You may get an idea of the "style" of each team but that would require some work and lots of game watching. Call me in about a month. -

i know for sure that Utah runs the pick and role religiously as they do in he NBA. the lakers run the triangle offense. the nets make the most of transition opporunities and so on and their playing styles are very similar to those of the real teams but I cant point out any particular signature team plays. However i have only seen the game being played so i am not that exposed to it.Comment

Re: Question for knowledgable NBA fans + Live players.
NBA Players who have been traded to Phil Jackson's teams in the past have said that after months with the team they STILL don't fully understand the triangle offense, so I don't think you are going to get a knowledgeable answer to that question here.
The only real team tendencies I've noticed in Live relates to the personnel on the floor. Each Player has a 'primacy' rating which I believe I read somewhere on this site means how often the team tries to run plays for that player to shoot.
This totally determines how a team will play, so if the highest primacy player is a C like Shaq, they will run Post ups and play the 2-man game a lot, if it is a shooting guard he will obviously take a lot of 3's, etc., etc. This is nice in that if you do a fantasy draft or make trades teams will change their styles to adapt to their new personnel.
I have notice team tendencies as far as running the break goes (a team like Dallas will run you to death just like in reality) and also how often a Team plays Zone against you. Teams that played a fair amount of Zone last year (minnesota, memphis) will run zones from time to time, but teams that didn't play any zone last year (IE Larry Brown said he was dead against the zone so his team played zero zone last year) will never run zones against you (at least as far as I've seen so far and I've played dozens of games already).
Hope that helps. Have fun with the game, I know I am.Comment
