But I don't think that's the problem. They scored 125 points tonight. But allowed 127. The problem is their defense. They controlled the Wizard up until the 3rd.

I think it's exactly what you said in the other post. Missing Dennis out of no way, hurt them.

I’m talking about in general, their offense hasn’t been that good even dating back to last season. They have the number 1 defensive rating in the league, they are a middle of the pack offensive team despite adding Harrell and Schroder which was not the expectation coming into the season as their moves were clearly made to improve on last years middle of the pack offense.

Sure they gave up 127 but it was in a game that went into overtime against a team that averages 119 a game. They didn’t play a great defensive game tonight but they still held them 4 points under their average through 4 quarters without AD and Schroder. They should be able to make enough plays on the other end to win games like this.

Sure they controlled them up until the 3rd, uptempo teams with guys like Beal and Westbrook are eventually going to make runs. Lakers can’t answer runs at the other end. And unless they play iso LeBron ball they can’t dictate pace either because they lack the offensive creativity (especially with no AD).. but even at full strength it’s too much iso AD away from the basket like he’s KD, or let Schroder play free lance like he’s Lou Williams. The most structure they typically have offensively is Gasol hitting Bron or Kuz on some back cuts.

Glad I didn't waste money on LP this year. I watched every Lakers game last year, I think I would've gone nuts by now with how they've been the last few weeks. Injuries or not, this team needs rest and health more than anything. Shortest off-season and injuries really catching up right now.

Right but they were never a bad team, they just had guys missing time due to COVID and injuries and still trying to implement new guys into the team/rotation.

Add those up and it should be no surprise to see a team struggle early on.

You know if WB would just focus on cutting down his turnovers. Stop shooting threes forever lol. Unless he wide open. And pick his spots. They'd be really solid.

He's definitely sacrificed his scoring for the betterment of the team. Beal is unquestionably the man. But that record is gonna get better for sure.
