    Conley - ORtg 123, DRtg 110, PER 19, WS 3.4, BPM 3.9, VORP 1.3

    DeMar - ORtg 125, DRtg 112, PER 21, WS 4, BPM 3.6, VORP 1.4

    DeMar on-off splits -5, Conley on-off splits +10.8

Clearly DeMar is just blowing him out of the water statistically as well. It’s not even close, way, way more deserving. And how is my wall of a text ant different or more ridiculous than your last 2-3 walls of text?

Next time use per 100 because that does a better job of accounting for pace. Anyway, all that stuff tells me is that DeMar has been better with less talent around him. He could actually be scoring a lot more, but he's doing a tremendous job of getting other people involved and setting up his teammates.

While playing out of position, not having a true starting quality PF and line up upheaval because of COVID.

I'm happy they finally gifted Mike an all - star bid even if he wasn't the most deserving. I no longer have to hear John Hollinger riding his **** on his podcast and whining that Mike never got the honor.

It does, but I didn’t see a need to adjust for pace within a singular season. Unless we are comparing a team that plays really fast like Washington to a team that plays really slow like New York you aren’t getting massive pace discrepancies within a single season. Especially from teams in the same conference. Example being Utah plays at a 101 pace, SA 101.9 very similar and numbers wouldn’t really change.

I only did the per 36 because per game wasn’t really fair to Conley because he only plays 29 minutes because they beat the brakes off of teams when he’s on the floor. He has the highest plus minus in the entire NBA right now.

I’m 100% with you on DeMar not being in as good of a circumstance. And while a lot of people don’t care about that stuff I actually do think the “do more with less” argument does have some value as well. But at the same time I’m not going to penalize Conley for playing on the best team in the league when he’s a huge reason they are in the spot they are in either. And while he does have more help you could make the same argument that his stats would also potentially be better as well if say Donovan went down for a stretch.

And just as far as the stat angle in general, why are you not making the same cases for SGA or Fox? And if it’s because their team hasn’t been any good so that’s your justification then what does that say about a guy who’s credited with nearly the same win shares as DeRozan but on a team that’s the best team in the league? And if you just feel DeRozan has the best balance of both while meaning the most to his team with injuries that’s fine too, like I said I’d have been fine with him being picked, I think someone else mentioned him in here too.. but to act like it was a giant snub and he’s be way, way ahead just really isn’t accurate. And if he, or any player, was truly that far ahead of anybody the coaches wouldn’t have left them off. The gaps between who makes the team and the next 3-4 guys in line people label as “snubs” are never actually big gaps, that goes for any season.
