This is not your same old Mavs...and who needs S.Nash?

I missed damn near all of the game but atleast I can watch it again on tape. Anyways I'm sick of people saying that Dallas doesn't play defense. They have improved big time defensively this year and they get huge stops when they have to ask Miami, Sacramento and Seattle all within the last two weeks Dallas trailed in the 4th qtr and much of those games yet they buckle down in the 4th qtr now and get stops.

I hope peope are also taking notice to Jason Terry this guy is shooting lights out this year and he has already made more clutch plays to actually win games down the stretch than Nash ever did in Dallas. I love ya Stevie but I must admit that Terry doesn;t wear down late down in games and he has shown he is very clutch. This guy is the Mavs new Nick Van Exel. Anyone overlooking this team pointing San Antonio, Seattle or Phoenix as the real powers out west will be shocked come post season time. THis Mavs team was rebuilt for post season play not flashy regular style like Phoenix and Seattle. The Mavs tried that way already and they know better than anyone it doesn't translate very well in the post season.

I'm sure all the power rankings and hype will continue to place Miami, Seattle, Phoenix and Sacramento ahead of Dallas but like Dirk said we just play ball and let the chips fall as they may. We aren't looking for regular season awards around here anymore. Damn I can't waite for the playoffs.

I agree with you, dallas has improved. The only problem is, with a 4th/5th seed, you will have to win most series on the road. That's a tough assignment.

As a 4th seed they get home court in the first round. I'm not to concerned about them on the road this year because they have improved big time and they have the 2nd beat road record in the NBA at 16-7. They have gone on the road and beat Miami, SacTown and now Seattle. They should have beat San Antonio on the road a couple of weeks ago but us Mavs fans know what happened with that blwon call against Duncan but ol well they moved forward and didn't cry about it like Kings fans.

This is a better road team and they have great poise and composure in close games.

didnt the bulls beat the mavs last week? lol

anyways, you're right on the mavs not being like how they were the past few seasons. I think they have a more solid team with better depth than the previous years, but we'll see what happens in the playoffs.

I liked the job Avery Johnson did while Nelly was out. It seemed like he really lit a fire under Damp.

It's way too early to tell if they will actually get homecourt in the 1st round, and even then they will still have a tough road ahead. The all star break isn't even here yet, there's still a lot of games to be played. I don't see the regular season road record affecting their play in the playoffs. I don't understand why you keep bringing the kings game over and over because it was obvious goaltending despite the outcome of the game.

The defense SHOULD be better as they actually have a legit center to clog the middle. Dampier is finally playing like he did when he was with GS last year
