If bron in it then Josh will win, if Bron's not in it Josh will win, pretty sad thinking that last year Josh lost to Candice Parker in the dunk contest.

that's where the nba takes a huge hit down the garbage can. Is it for the money or for the love of the game?

oh well, either way, I am looking forward to Josh smith, but the other names don't interest me.

regardless as to who is in the dunk contest, nothing will ever compare to off the glass between the legs. J-Rich officially killed the contest.

It says on the pacers website that Freddie Jones is reconsidering his decision to sit out. He was being bothered by tendinitis.

and that's just sooooo PATHETIC.. they are paid so much money, they love their job and they still can't guard themselves during games or compete against each other in dunk contest, because of what? because of being afraid to be ashamed? of being afraid to lose? that is so lame.. most of them just don't have the heart, motivation and love for the game any more.. losers

I think part, not all but part of the reaon Lebron might sit out is because he was snubbed out of a spot on the All Star team last year. Lebron IS wether you like it or not the largest attraction the NBA has and will be that way for some time barring some career altering injury or what not. Lebron more or less is the savior of the NBA. Im not saying in a MJ kind of way exactly but with Kobe banging little girls in the booty and being a brat and breaking up a potential dynasty..on top of that he WAS the heir aparent to the MJ throne. Then you got Gangstas runnin arond the league, some of which who need therapy ala Ron Artest.... Lebron James is the NBA's biggest and brightest and most overal talented star. Hes got ALOT of power in his hands now and he knows it.

On another note..im kinda tired of seeing 6-9, 6-10, and 6-11 footers in the dunk contest. Thier dunks just dont look as good as shorter players. When you are 6-3 ala Stevie Franchise and you got mad hops, your dunks just look more impressive cuz there is more of an illustion of elevation there. We want to see high flyers. Not people who can stand on thier tippie toes and dunk a ball.

This dunk contest to me is going to suck something awful! Now I haven't seen many Atlanta or Hornets games this year but from highlights it seems that the 2 Smith's are good dunkers in games so is Stoudamire and Andersen. They do wicked jams during a game but I'm not too convinced they can do anything better than what Jordan, Nique, Vince or JRich have done.

i think you guys are sleeping on JR smith.... dude can get up and he is about 6-5 to 6-6. He is not THAT big (kinda around vince's height or a bit smaller). I like the picks of the Smith's and Anderson isnt that bad but they need to get more guards/SMALL forwards.

If there were some kind of strength meter or if it was a "dunk ON YOU contest" then Amare would be a good choice. This years is gonna be bad again overal, but i think the Smith's should provide some excitement.
