    Your Team, To This Point

How are they doing? Are you impressed or disappointed with how they've played in the first half of the season?

What are the pluses and minuses about your team to this point?

For Charlotte, I'm impressed with how we are playing as a team, hustling and diving for loose balls, and we're in almost every single game. Emeka definitely surprised me and I see his offensive game improving. I knew he'd rebound in the NBA, but if he can get off this injury, I'll be impressed with his first season. I'm also happy with how Gerald Wallace is playing.

He is everything I expected him to be. He hustles, dunks, blocks, rebounds, he can do it all. I saw him with all of this talent in Sac, I'm glad to have it here in North Carolina.

I'm disappointed, however, with the number of minutes Kapono and Steve Smith have played. I personally feel that a team should ALWAYS have a jumpshooter on the the floor, and even though we have Kareem Rush, Kapono deserves way more minutes. He shoots 40% from 3, and is averaging 8.9 points in less than 20 minutes a night. Oh well.

    Overall, I give this team a C

Re: Your Team, To This Point

As for the Cavaliers, I would so I am about 75% happy. There have been quite a few things that they have done that they shouldn't, but then again they have also did quite a few things that I didn't think they could.

3rd Place so far in the east. Pretty good. They should be ahead of the Pistons in my eyes, but they have let some mediocre teams sneak by them which has set them back quite a bit. Losing to the Knicks? Losing to the Nuggets when you were up 15 points at home? Shouldn't happen.

The play of Lebron has been pretty much what I expected. I didn't think he would be as good on his jumpshot as he has shown, but I guess he practiced quite a bit. If he would stop falling away sometimes, he would be even better.

Gooden, I am still so/so about. Some games he really brings it, others he doesn't really care. Ilguaskas is the same way. When he gets a few early buckets, he is one of the Cavs biggest assets, but when he gets off to a slow start, he may as well be on the bench.

The injury bug has been unkind to us so far, so I expect us to have an excellent 2nd half, finishing 2nd in the east behind the Heat. I know the Pistons are playing very well right now, but I think that with all of our pieces, the Cavs are a threat for the number 2 spot.

    Overall, I would give them a B.

        Raptors:
        Positive:
        - MoPete has stepped his game up and is the leader of the team
        - CB4 looks to be a star in a few years

        Negative:
        - Drafted a scrub from BYu with a top ten pick
        - Got rapped in the VC trade
        - Mitchell has been a terrible coach
        - We payed Zo 10 mill to get out of his contract
        - Eric Williams has been stuggling and wants out
        - Skip has been a bitch
        - babcock is worse off then Layden.

Overall Grade: C- (and that's b/c we're in the east)

            Knicks get an F.

Season has been a total failure so far, injuries or not.

I wouldn't call Araujo a scrub just yet. I think he's been playing pretty good over the last few games. One thing that I think has hurt him is the fact that he's the kind of Center who is better suited to the half court game. This coming offseason will be huge for him because he has to adjust to the team's philosophy. If he adjusts then he'll be a fine player if he doesn't then the Raptors wasted a draft pick.

Other than that I agree wholeheartedly. I just wish things would actually turn out good for this franchise. It's a soap opera every damn year even back to the Zeke days.

                        San Antonio Spurs

                        Positives:
+ Tim Duncan works with less of a load on his shoulders and his team still has 41 wins at the all-star break.
+ Manu Ginobili is having an all-star season.
+ Spurs offense has vastly improved.
+ Margin of victory is among the league's all-time elite.
+ Role player Bruce Bowen has earned a Player of the Week award.
+ Malik Rose is having absent-Duncan like numbers with Duncan around.
+ 1 loss at home will make their home-court advantage inpenatrable.

                        Negatives:
                        - Rasho Nesterovic is no David Robinson ... even the Robinson of 2003.
                        - Brent Barry has struggled in the first half of the season at 3's.
                        - Although their FT's have improved, they still can't overcome in close games, compiling a 9-9 record in games decided by less than 10 points.
