I have chosen to be the Indiana Pacers. I am have 2 created players on my team being Edgar Patino (rated 84) and Marcus Borelli (rated 82). MB is a PG and EP is a SG I released Reggie Miller and ummm dont remember who the starting PG was but I gave them up so my team is a little worse. Also, I traded Jermain O'Neal and my 2nd string Center for Elton Brand, basically strictly for salary cap reasons. We started the season 0-2 losing against the Raptors and Warriors. I lost by 50 to the Raptors and 10 to the Warriors. And now, for my third game of the season and first diary entry I play the New Jersey Nets!
The game starts out with them getting up quick at 10-0. I fought back and the score at the end of the first was 22-14 with them winning. The second quarter I came out played hard and battled the lead for a halftime score of 42-38. By the end of the third my players were highly confident being up 68-58. The problem is all of my benchers are in except for Rookie Point Guard Marcus Borelli, and of coarse he has to draw three fouls getting him up to 5 so he comes out of the game. The only weapon the Pacers have left is Ron Artest who knocks down a tray to get back within two with a minute to go. The Pacers go for it and all the starters are back in! With about 20 seconds to go I am down 2. Borelli steals the ball and throws it down for a fast break to Patino who dunks it in to tie the game. The take the ball and Kidd misses a "J" and the Pacers get fouled. They go to the line with 11 seconds left and make one free throw. The nets get the ball, they hit Kerry Kittles at the top of the key with 2 seconds to go...the J flies through the air...and hits hte back of the rim leading the Pacers to there first win of the YEAR!!! Coach Isah Thomas was available for comment after the game.
Press- Coach Thomas, how did it feel to win your first game in such dramatic form?
Isah- Well, it wasn't the easiest of games to play. I feel a little disapointed in my bench that they couldn't hold New Jersey at the beginning of the fourth but we got through it and we got a victory!
Press- You guys currently have a losing record going into your next game against an undefeated, 7-0 Orlando Magic. What kind of emotions do you guys have?
Thomas- Well we know that the Magic are not out of our league so we are going to just go out there and play a little better then tonight and hopefully we will get the job done.
Until tomarrow.....LET'S GO PACERS! (FEEDBACK PLEASE!!)
