I wonder how long till Vogel is on the hot seat. I feel like it's going to be one of thoses season and I completely embrace it. If it's going to be a **** show I'am just gonna sit down and enjoy it.

It was favorite thing coming into the draft. His offense will come later. But he's got AD kind of skills on defense.
It's my favorite thing about this draft class overall. We have a bunch of players that could turn into All NBA defenders.
Edit: I do wonder how long will this BIG cave line up will last. Causing a lot of problems for teams.

We’ll be fine. Incorporating Russ was bound to be a tough task, once we start staggering him with LeBron off the court and getting a few guys back healthy we’ll take off.
I won’t be surprised to see a 10 game win streak soon but I’m definitely not feeling this playing Russ and Rondo together mess. Reeves should also get more minutes

I kinda felt this way to an extent at first but with all the other 40% outside shooters they landed after the fact I think they ended up doing better than overpaying for Hield. He’s a great shooter, but it’s literally all he can do and those attempts coming to the Lakers would go down. Just watching Bazemore defend Steph in that first game makes me think they ended up better off (assuming his shooting normalizes after more than 2 games).. Kings have already moved Hield to the bench, starting both Harkless and Davis over him at the 3, I think he was the “perfect fit” on paper that ultimately would have disappointed because he wouldn’t get the minutes or touches to still be a 20 a night guy there. I don’t even know that it was a guarantee Vogel would even want to play him given the defensive weaknesses.
Personnel aside I think the Lakers issues still fall on a mehhh offensive game plan from Vogel and Anthony Davis thinking he’s a guard.. as crazy as it sounds part of me feels like Davis would be a better player if he was actually a worse player. Like if he couldn’t shoot/handle quite as well as he does maybe he would attack a bit more. He needs to be locked in a closet watching Giannis game film for about a week straight lol.
He’s too skilled to just tell him to go post up all game, he’s got a good shot, can handle, great at ball screens and diving for oops, but it’s the plays where he gets a 6’6 guy on him and he does a crossover into a step back jump shot.. he needs to take those guys to the rim. Even when he’s making those shots it feels like a net negative because It just means he’s going to keep doing it.
They need him playing like an MVP level player because the only other option they have is reverting back to an extremely heavy LeBron ball style of play.. and that’s where the whole Westbrook fit would become problematic.
They looked solid most of the game against GS, and pretty solid when they started clawing back too late against Phoenix. Both instances they had a solid up and down game going with speed and movement. Westbrook starts converting at the rim and both games could have been a different outcome. Feels like they are figuring it out, but it’s been in spurts. Nunn, Eillington, THT coming back should put a stop to the Rondo and Westbrook pairing as well.Comment
