You're not wrong but I would say Allen and Garland playing like they have and Rubio + Love contributing huge off the bench played a big role in this too lol. I know they were bad enough last year to grab him at 3, but he was still drafted into a substantially better situation than Cade coming into this season.

At this point I don't think you could go wrong with Cade, Mobley, or Barnes but I tend to agree with you Mobley's team has done better and he's been a big part in that, and I think on a consistent level he's been stronger since day 1 - now.. I think he would have my vote.

Cade's case has been more so an as of late type of argument. If he keeps getting better as the year progresses he could make an argument depending on what that end result looks like.. That said I don't know how much that ultimately will sway voters. Anthony Edwards closed out last season playing at a substantially higher level than Ball, but that late run wasn't enough to take the award for him. And the Pistons will not be winning obviously.

At least in his instance Embiid is also playing like an all-time level player. And it's impacting winning for them. This isn't like a player A's team does good while they are playing like an All-Star and they start getting compared to GOAT/top10 tier players and it's completely unwarranted (looking at you Derrick Rose)..

Embiid's problem has always been health/endurance. He's never been healthy and when he was he was gassed in 20 minutes launching threes after that. But he has always been a good defender with elite level scoring/efficiency for his possessions. Like peak Shaq peak Wilt level, it just never played out over the course of the game because he couldn't give you 35 minutes a night physically. If you look at last year when he was healthy, and then this year in particular as of late we are really getting a glimpse of just how great he is. People laughed when he drew some Hakeem comparisons on draft night because he was still so raw (so was Hakeem at that age) but Joel for the past few years has been a better offensive player.. Take what you want from that given the different eras though.

I do agree that Joker is a bit better, but both of them are playing at levels where they are nearly as good as the best centers to ever play in these peak years. So in that sense I don't think it's just a huge slight to Joker when people claim they prefer Embiid.. But it is an absolute joke when people act like Joker isn't a tier 1 player in general. His past couple of years have been Rushmore level from a statistical, advanced stat, impact measure level.. He just keeps adding too, the defense is no longer a negative, he's rebounding like Minnesota Love, idk what's next for him it just doesn't even make sense anymore how he's this good.

You know I love Mobley and everything he's done for the Cavs and everything will do in the future. But if Cade keeps this up. He's winning Rookie of the year. It's just the way the award has been. Didn't matter about team success.

Joker is going to kill the Nets tonight.

Edit: and Yes Mobley just dunked on Giannis

I know Kings are playing undermanned, missing key guys. But to get blown out by over 50 points last night and being down 30 tonight is plain bad. Especially since they are just missing Fox and Davis as the key rotation guys. And especially since, they are getting spanked by teams fighting for the play-in spots. And I see they were up 33-19 tonight to be outscored 40+ points since

At least Bagley III is back in the rotation. That sure helps ...

Might as well, try to up his trade value somehow.

But, they will be 3-10 this month so far and 4 games behind Portland for the 10th seed.

                      Booker can't miss right now.

                      21 in the first quarter!

Damn Oubre really had 10 threes. And dropped 39.

                        Ja with a 40 piece.

Lost 9 of our last 11 games, not even blowout losses just don't have the horses to compete right now with Gobert and Donovan missing time and Bojan and Conley sitting out here and there

Just glad we got off to as hot of a start as we did otherwise we'd be on the outside looking in right now

Very impressed with what the Cavs are doing this season in spite of the injuries. Third place in the conference? Who saw that coming?

I’m just so proud of this team, man. It’s the first time probably in my life (I’m 29 and my earliest Cavs memories were Ricky Davis and Boozer) that we’ve had a competent team without LeBron and I’m just enjoying the whole thing. I don’t even think I got to enjoy the last LeBron years because there was expectation for them to win and other than how great 2016 was a lot of it was just getting my hopes up to get beat by a juggernaut.

For the first time in years as well there’s tangible hope for the future because we’re not at the mercy of somebody like LeBron deciding he’s gonna walk and dismantling our team.
