Don't get me wrong I liked ID too but shot blocking was just stupid in that game. I could block 30 shots a game versus the CPU literally and not too many less against a human. This was with 5 five minute quarters. In the NBA a team averages 8-10 for an entire game 48 minute game. ID artifically lowered FG perentage and statistics by having those ridiculous block numbers. Hopefully they take a slightly more sim apporach this year or at least have sliders that allow you to approximate such realism.

"What I really like about ID 2002 is the user has to worry about his shots getting blocked as well, and he DOES have to use judgement regarding when to put up a shot in the paint. I'm hoping judgement of defensive situations and stuff plays a big factor in these basketball titles this year."

Like I said, the AI lacks any judgement in ID 2002. They'll shoot the ball even with a defender in their faces and their shots are consistently flat too. This should be fixed in ID 2003, at least I hope so. If the AI had better judgment, if shot arcs were more varying, I think blocks and FG% would be a lot more realistic.
