Obviously seeding still to be decided, but the standings as of now seems like everyone who's in a playoff/play in position will make it.

    East:
    Nets aren't jumping to 10
    Hawks/Bulls likely won't reach 8
    Celtics aren't dropping from 1
    Cavs/Bucks probably won't fall from top 3
    4-8 seeding still wide open

    West:
    Rockets aren't jumping to 10
Seeding still wide open but 1-4 teams probably all stay in the top 4 while 5-10 is wide open

For the Sixers, it feels like they are somewhat safe from falling outside the top 10. Which, they need because some nights they can hang afloat and other nights they look like a lottery team. They just need to hang around until Embiid and others get healthy. They're last 8 games of the season are very winnable(outside of the Thunder and Magic). So as long as they can stay a float, they can make a run for the 6th seed with those last 8 games.

Sixers should be safe. They are 6 games up from #10 Hawks, who's going to be without Trae for a while. Pacers just lost Mathurin. They are 4.5 games up from #8 Bulls. So unless the wheels fall off, I think floor is #8. I just hope they can survive their March school which is road heavy. Ideally, they can stay close to Miami. But it almost seems unavoidable for the Sixers to dodge the Play-in. We have to see how Indiana is without Mathurin and if Haliburton can stay healthy, but Indiana is not a team you want to play in a one game setting. As a Sixers fan, I just want to avoid matching up with Celtics in round 1. Ideally, I would want to match up with the Cavs.

NBA TV deal could be finalized soon. Seems like it's 75% agreed upon already.

Seems like TNT/ABC/ESPN will retain their rights, but a chance for the "Emirates NBA Cup" (aka the in season tournament) could move to streaming, or at the very least the final 4 of it. Good way to make a tournament people don't care about care about it even less.

Big news in it, NBC could be getting back into covering some games! I wonder how many games they'll get. A weekly NBA on NBC game?

NBC getting back in NBA coverage would be great. The return of Saturday and Sunday (post - NFL season) matinee games is what I really want.

Not sure how they'll replace the greatness of Steve 'Snapper' Jones and Bill Walton on commentary, though.

Maybe NBC gets Saturdays and then ABC/ESPN sticks with the Sunday one?

They have the Matinee games right now.

The problem is the guys don’t play either due to injuries, resting or whatever reasons. Nostalgia is really the only reason why people would be excited about that but it’s not like we’d be getting better games there either.

Ok, correction, I want more matinee games after the NFL season if NBC coverage returns.

I definitely don't think resting is the issue, but the league needs to better schedule out that lead up to the 'premiere' games.

People want NBA on NBC back right up to the point when they realize how bad their studio show will probably be lol, and who even knows what the play-by-play team will be. Then the hate will start. How do we even go back to weekend matinee games feeling special when we can watch literally any game we want all week now? If you're a complete hoops nerd you can watch games all day every day on league pass, and if you're more of a casual you're probably too busy having your mind rotted out by short form viral NBA videos on repeat to even know what NBC even is.

When you say they need to be better in regards to scheduling, what do you mean?

If you’re talking about getting rid of B2B, those are already scaled down dramatically(not completely gone but hopefully they will be soon)but aside from starting the season later OR cutting down games(not happening)im not sure what else they can do.

This is the other part I forgot about.

If folks hate ABC/ESPN NBA’s coverage, then you’re not going to like NBC’s either because it’s going to be the same set up with loudmouth talking heads and probably Rachel Nichols or Sage Steele on there lol

Otto Porter Jr retires. I feel like I'm getting old now. I remember when he got drafted. That whole 2013 draft was pretty disappointing.

Never played a game with the Jazz either.

Did they know he for sure wouldn't be coming back?

Speaking of the 2013 draft, it's crazy how much that draft sucked yet still produced the best player in the NBA.

stunning stat, at least to me (regarding rest and injuries and everything), Anthony Davis has only missed 4 games this year

RJ Barrett will be out for a while after his brother passed away.

Must especially suck after getting traded to your hometown team and now getting to play infront of your friends and family, and a few months later losing one of those close family members who no doubt was excited to see you back home.
