Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
The problem with Kyrie is he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and he's far from it.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
I used to like NBA drama when it was players teaming up, forming super teams, leading other teams on then signing with another in the middle of the night, etc.
Props to you guys for spending all your energy on this new NBA drama but it ain’t for me. Indecent exposure, sexual misconduct, workplace affairs, anti-semitism…y’all like talking about this stuff?
All this **** going on is not what I think people want from a pro sports league.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Wonder if Ime is starting to think he is better off suspended rather than inheriting this mess
Its weird or silly. Kyrie shared a link to a documentary on his social media. As far as I know he provided no caption.
Apparently that documentary contains elements that are viewed as antisemitic, but oddly enough lost in all this is how it is antisemitic. From what I can tell, the documentary is based on one of those black alternate history things. Like radical black conspiracy theories I think?
When asked about that in two (?) press conferences he has deflected. When asked outright whether he is antisemitic he has deflected.
I don't know about this. I also wonder if the NBAPA will object, but look I don't want to get into this too much but there are some things which people have zero chill with. Antisemitism is one of them, maybe the largest one. And many times it seems like if you say anything other than something glowingly positive its viewed as antisemitic. I don't always like it, last I'll comment on that aspect.
Kyrie brought this on himself for being stupid or shortsighted. Literally the week before you saw what happened to Kanye so why share that?
BUT, I don't like this move by the Nets. If he doesn't align with the organization or you feel he doesn't represent you, remove him from the team? Its kind of ridiculous to me that he is suspended because he didn't say "Sorry" when we all know it wouldn't be a genuine apology anyway.
Has there been another similar incident where a player was suspended or otherwise punished because the apology wasn't explicit enough?
Denying the holocaust is about as bad as it gets.
The documentary pretty much argues that the holocaust was a hoax made up by white jews to get a piece of land in the middle east to establish Israel….
It actually quotes Hitler….
It also argues that white people stole being jew from black people and that they are responsible for slavery.
It has more of this none sense which eventually leads to the conclusion that black people are the original jews and everything has been stolen from them and must be given back.
That last part is apparently the woke part that kyrie seems talk about when he speaks about his heritage.
While that part isent antisemitism , everything else pretty much is….

Regarding the last two paragraphs, I think people had kinda held out hope that he just didn’t realize what he had done and he’d offer a simple apology and move on. Was probably misguided faith but even with the ups and downs he’s had off the court, I think people generally find him to be a nice and engaging person so they had held out hope.
The issue got bigger when they asked him if he holds anti-Semitic beliefs and he basically said “no, but yes.”
It completely undermined the damage control the Nets had already taken on his behalf and was worse than the initial tweet to begin with.
Glad he finally apologized but I wonder if it’s too late at this point. Genuinely no idea where the story will go from here.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
My hope is that Kyrie saw the documentary and before doing due diligence he made that post. I think we've all done that at some point. But then because of his arrogance he dug his heels and took the yall just don't see things as deep as me mindset.Comment
