It's nice having a 2 headed snake with defense behind it.

Jaylen Brown was about it in the fourth quarter. I've watched that second half a few times since last night. I expect a lot of Zone from the Warriors in the second game.

      Bruh...

      Last series, Jalen Rose (paraphrasing)...

"We have yet to have a good game for both Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Last game it was Bam and Jimmy didn't show up. The game before it was Jimmy and Bam didn't show up.

But tonight is the night Bam and Jimmy both have a good game on the same night. That's why I'm picking the Heat to win today's game."

I legit said out loud to myself, "WTF kind of analysis is that Jalen?" [emoji23]

The game where the audio dropped in the Memphis series and we had to listen to that crew do the game live for a few minutes was the worst commentary I’ve heard in my entire life [emoji23].

Jalen thinks that if he speaks slowly and calmly enough that automatically equals good analysis.

I used to listen to Jalen and Jacoby kind of regularly, but there's only so much you can take when they start giving relationship advice, and they're speaking with authority on stupid food debates, etc.

I know you were joking, but speaking like that has improved his commentary ten fold. He used to sound like he was reading off a crumpled up sheet of paper.

He’s come a long way, I appreciate that he’s improved his craft in that aspect.

Now what he actually says, including his overabundance of pop culture references can be hard on the ears, lol

Does anyone know what's the deal with Mark Jones calling the Finals instead of Mike Breen?

I'm not a big fan of either guy, but Jones is my most disliked play - by - play guy that calls the NBA.

I hate all his forced "catchphrases" and need to add "cool"/"hip" vernacular into all his calls. [emoji1785][emoji2961]

Damn, that sucks. That means they could possibly miss the entire series. I'll have to find the radio call to play while watching the games then...[emoji1][emoji1][emoji1]

as a mix for them to see something different sure, but I don't think the zone works other than to get them out of them rhythm for a couple possessions. This isn't them in the bubble anymore, Horford as a hub has alot to do with this and Udoka ball is generational.

I think both will be back on Sunday.

Breen has been out since game 6 of ECF. VG says his tests were inconclusive and negative.

Only solution is to have Magic Johnson join the commentary team to provide his insights.

I'm going to sound righteous here but I gave up the pre- and post-game thing years and years ago and I'm pretty sure my life has been better for it. In the 2000's and prior, ESPN used to be my "idle" channel that'd just be on in the background but once it definitively moved into its Sports Shouting phase, I noped out.

I do make exceptions for Inside the NBA from time to time because they operate with different intent than most other shows but otherwise, yeah, the only place I encounter the likes of Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless, or Kendrick Perkins is via thread titles on the internet and I'm fine with that being the extent of it. I do not respect their hustle.

                            Great break down

Pricthard was HUGE in that fourth. I realized they got the last while Smart sat on the bench. It wasn't until they got the lead did he come back in the game up 10 lol.

ESPN did a good job getting JJ Redick on board and I believe Pat Bev has done some work for them this postseason too. I think both of them, despite extremely dislikeable on-court personalities, have an ability to cut through the narrative **** and give a good take based on their experience of being in the modern NBA

I still don’t go out of my way to listen to anything immediately pre and post game and avoid any of the big early morning talking head shows where I can but JJ is a guy I always look out for. He had Tyrese Haliburton on to recap game 1 after it had finished and I appreciate that. You won’t come away with any huge takes but you’ll get an honest conversation between people who actually know what they’re talking about. JJ also completely shut down Steven A when he was talking about Wiggins shutting down Luka. He definitely has his personal biases because he’s cool with Luka but he made him look stupid
