just a little fyi....I just correctly learned how to use the pivot last night and it was awesome. Before I learned, I had so much difficulty driving past defenders. There are 2 ways to use the pivot. You can use it while you're stationary in order to clear space between yourself and the defender, and palm the ball away from the defender. The pivot can also be used in the crossover move. Right after you press the crossover button you can tap the pivot button (while the crossover is still happening) and you will do a quick new crossover to get around the defender. Try moving the analog in different directions while doing this also. Last night I was dominating the pacers with Larry Hughes (all of this on all-star). Just letting you guys know this game has a steeper learning curve than any of the other ones.

can you explain this a little more. do you tap it while the crossover is still happening or when the crossover is finished. also i believe you can use the pivot to deliver a bounce pass to the post. i havent tried that too much yet though.

jake that's incorrect about the pivot button for the bounce pass. The OTHER button does a pass fake. If you do a pass fake and then pass to the post, nine times out of ten it'll be a bounce pass (fake high, pass low).

i think i read in one post that if you hold the pivot button and move left or right and press pass is will be a bounce pass. i will try to find it.

well i must have dreamed that up cause i can find it anywhere. but i will try the pump fake then pass and pass fake then pass and see what happens.

Works like a charm in the game too and the CPU does it all day.

Jake, try it, it may work but I don't see why it would. Throwing hard does some bounce passes on the perimeter and the pass fake usually gives me bounce passes in the post.

That's right. Use the pivot button, move the analog stick right or left (to basically step around the defender, then pass with X (PS2). It'll be a bounce pass...

I tried tapping the pivot button while crossing over and it seems to have no affect on the ballhandler.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but it didn' work for me.

just another thing that makes NBA 2k3 a great game...just like in real basketball, it's important to "fake a pass, to make a pass" ( which my bball coach says about every day in practice).
