Another Alternative To An Age Limit
For those of you that don't know, back in the day when the NBA first started to allow college underclassmen and high school seniors to enter the draft they had the hardship rule. Which basically only allowed any college underclassmen or high school senior to enter the draft only if they displayed a financial need. Meaning unless a player was dirt poor, living below the poverty line, mom working 2 jobs just to support the family, etc. They could not enter the draft if they were a college junior, sophmore, freshman, or a high school senior. Maybe if the league can't get an age limit they should go back to the hardship rule. That way if you college underclassmen or high school senior that is as talented as a Lebron James he could enter the draft if he wanted to, but only if he could demonstrate to the league that he has a financial need for his family.Last edited by BJNT; 03-01-2005, 12:01 PM.Tags: None -

Re: Another Alternative To An Age Limit
that rule wont work because if he claims himself as independent then he will still look broke what 18 year old you know thats in college have income over poverty?
Its either going to be age limit or two years out high school.
Because if age limit is set to let say 20 some people like amarie and kevin garnett wouldhave turned 20 before their freshman year ended.
I think this rule will be challenged if the league agree with some type of restriction. Because they had the rule before and it was challenged and the nba lost. Not saying the rule wont be implemented but i think it will be challengedComment
