Yeah but thats like saying Dirk went to the Western Conference Finals. Too bad he got hurt but hey they both lost so it still counts as nothing. I would love to see Dirk and AI win rings before their career(s) are over. They both have a very good chance this year.

Dirk is NOT in the top 5. Do I think you have to win a championship to be MVP? no because MVP is a yearly award DUH. Its given out before the finals start DUH, so you cant base league MVP on who wins the championship. So I guess if AI averaged 40 points a game 14 rebounds, and 7 assists but didnt win a championship this year then the MVP trophy has to go to someone else? Give me a freakin break. Right now it's a 3 way battle between Duncan, AI, and Lebron.. with Nash somewhere barely brining up the rear.

What if I win an NBA championship this year, does that mean im automatically in the running for MVP next season? In a whole new season? When it comes to MVP and Hall of Fame, championships in my opinion although might be factored in, are overrated. Champinships can help give you a push to get in when your numbers youve put up are on the border of being HOF caliber or not. Unless you are a Nascar Driver, Golfer, Tennis Player, Bowler...some sport where winning or loosed is based soley on you and you alone then championships are overrated. If I play for the lakers and we win 5 rings while im there...tht shouldnt automatically put me in the HOF..cuz i could have been a bench warmer or 6th man. But if Im a golfer and I finish my career wining 15 majors and 50 tournaments total...thats different.

Why is Lebron still being dicuss, he a first half of the season canadate and hasn't did nothing to be consider lately. Tayshaun more derserving then Bron for the second half. and who said Duncan don't make clutch shots, did you see the Cavs vs. the Squrs. Duncan shoot better then lebron and he's a PF, people who think Bron better then Duncan need to STFU. b!t@c*

mvp is about stats. at least it has always been in the past. not about championships or anything else. it does not go to the best player on the best team either otherwise shaq or duncan would win every year. 27 ppg, 10 reb and top 20 in blocks plus leads team in steals i believe. dirk should be mvp but will not because he is white and foreign. any other player w/ those stats not named dirk woul be automatic mvp
