The Sixers will not make the playoffs

And you have Jim O'Brien to blame for it.

It is an absolute friggin' shame that Billy King has busted his butt to try to relieve some long term cap stress off this team and also gave Iverson the best teammate he's ever had....and the head coach is ruining it.

I've already mentioned the defense before in other threads. BeanTownBrawler laid it out for us Sixer fans and he is absolutely correct. So I won't even get into that. All I will say is this...we have big leads in games and somehow they disappear just like that.

But what I will get into is hte other things. What offense are we running here, huh? It's a system of nothing. It's Iverson dribble around like crazy, looking like a waterbug trying to not get stomped on, and hope he scores or finds someone to bail him out. Then Obie gave Kyle Korver the absolute green light to shoot from beyond the arch at will. Korver is out there on the floor popping up 3 pointers unconsciously. When he makes a shot for 2 points, you feel weird inside like "Um, did I just see that?". Can't you set up Korver to shoot inside the arch sometimes? He's a damn good shooter. I'm sure he can make 15-18 footer with ease. And make him ease back on the brainless shooting. Rein him in some. But knowing Obie's love for the three, this will never happen.

And now we get to Webber. This guy didn't just lose all of his talent overnight. The people here swear to God he lost it and complain about how slow he looks and this and that. Maybe it's because with how Obie's offense works. He's making C-Webb run up and down, up and down, up and down the court and freelance his shots off liek the rest of the guys on the court. Everyone wants to dribble instead of pass. Webber comes from a Sac-town team that passed the ball around and that's how the offense was productive and how he was productive. The man was Player of the Month in January, for Pete's sake. He is being ruined here. His 21-10-5 will reduce with each game. He even said after the game last night that he has never had a stretch of 3 games with a total of 5 assists. THAT'S TELLING.

Now, the rotations. Where the hell is Willie Green?! Willie Green could be a starter with other teams in this league. He could easily be putting up 15 points a game, yet he cannot get in the game for the Sixers. Obie swears Green cannot play with Iverson. So what did O'Brien do? He puts Willie on the IR. Why in the holy hell would you do something like that!?!?!?!? The guy can play! Billy King STOLE him in the draft and now his career is being ruined. But instead we have Kevin Ollie and John Salmons out there.

Then we have Dalembert. When Iverson was supposedly injured late last season, this team with Chris Ford at the helm, almost made the damn playoffs. And Samuel Dalembert was a big time part of that. This guy was averaging like 3 blocks a game. There were nights where he had 8 blocks....15 rebounds and so on. 15 points. He can go down low and also hit the jumper. Let alone Sammy being one of the most athletic big men in the game. O'Brien comes in and now Dalembert can't get off the bench. 14 minutes last night??? Mark Jackson getting most of the minutes? C'mon man. Look, I like Jackson. He can shoot. But why the hell you have him putting up 18 footers and what not? He's needed down there in the post where he's evil. The guy is a monster. But you have to have Dalembert in the game! You are wasting away his talent, which he has plenty of.

LOL he hasn't even tried using Matt Barnes yet. What a surprise.

I am sick and tired of this coach. He had me when he put down Jameer Nelson during workouts before the draft. But I had to let that go. I gave him the beginning of the season. Ok, this team wasn't good enough. But once I started noticing this team having big leads of 15-20 points and then losing them really fast, that's where I began not liking this guy AT ALL. And now he is proving it day after day after day and especially now after he's been given Chris Webber, this team LOOKS THE SAME! How can that be???

I give up. Fire Jim O'Brien. Now.

Mmmm at least Korver can shoot it. How about when he green-lighted Walker with Boston?

P2K... I feel the same way... except with the Magic... too much Francis... not enough Dwight Howard... and NO OFFENSIVE PLAYS... defense is extremely weak as well...

Coaches are ruining the game. Basically, all they do nowadays are control egos and substitutions. There was a point when everyone was saying certain coaches try to coach too hard. Now it seems as if they don't coach at all.

I fell you on this Philly thing... sooo much talent... not enough direction... hopefully something turns around before it's too late...

Would your rather have Obie as your head coach, or good ol' Larry Brown?
