Markannen showing last season wasn't no fluke.

He’s a freak, when he’s attacking the rim and aggressive he’s the most Giannis-like player in the league. And like Giannis literally plays the 3, 4, or 5 and can defend all 3 positions too.

I know it’s one of those “easy to say in hindsight” situations. But if Chicago could have somehow kept him through all this by trading out other money/more picks or whatever.. imagine what they would look like right now.

Tough loss but not even mad at it.

When Luka is playing like that, it don’t matter how perfect of a game you play. Just makes that Cavs loss look silly smh

Ben Simmons looked really good last night.

You just not going to win a game where Luka hits those kind of shots in the half court. But I will say this. That kind of basketball ain't going to win a championship for the Mavs. Still had trouble slowing down a decent Nets team. 49 points can't come from Luka every night.

So much action last night. I have in laws over this weekend. So I was in my bedroom watching all these games. PXL_20231028_031439142.MP.jpg

I also saw that insane Jokic inbound alley oop to Gordon from about full court.

Here is another not as crazy. But when I watched it live. I didn't realize what happened [emoji23]

This little behind the back fake into layup

Sengun got real things going on. Houston looked a lot better.

I don't know if anyone noticed this last night. As I keep seeing all these little things from Wemby. It just gets crazier and crazier. How many 19 year olds work off the ball like that?

And that's not some second rate defender there.

Ok last post about Unicorns. But man the NBA.

                          This is awesome

With the way 3 pointers work now. No lead is safe.

You can't just sag off all these players now.

Chet’s defensive awareness is unreal. He still lacks in terms of quickness, balance, footwork a bit if we’re comparing him to someone like Wemby or a chunk of NBA vets. But his awareness on that end and understanding of where he needs to be, and timing is just unreal. He’s a lot more Duncan-like in that sense where his defensive IQ is just there from day 1.

I thought one thing that was impressive from him last night is he was matched up with Mobley and not just some random role players and still had the game he had.

Your comments about the shooting is just something that annoys me about all the “no defense in the league anymore” type of stuff.. people fail to acknowledge that giving someone just an inch of space now leads to shots from ALL players on the floor that are worth an extra point than most shots in years past. And there is nobody to leave, there is rarely any player that passes on a open shot. The amount of ground you have to cover is insane, you can be in what would be great positional defense in like ‘94 and it be 3 feet too far away from even an average shooter now.

People will always hold an era bias to different points in time, and there are rule changes that factor in a bit as well, and it’s not always pretty to watch. Watching dudes come up the court and clank 6 threes in a row isn’t always “pretty”… but it really doesn’t take much to go on massive runs, and there isn’t really anything you can do about it era, rules, whatever aside, when the shots are dropping. For the most part you’re going to get more points and more efficiently just by the nature of all 5 guys making shots worth an extra point. No lead is safe, and the game is going to have more massive runs and blowouts than ever most likely.

It’s kinda crazy to contextualize like this but the league as a whole is pretty much like the T-Mac 13 points in 33 seconds.. not from any one player like that, but just the whole team in general. Those types of runs and comebacks from consecutive threes is just normal now.

I forget what playoff game it was last year, Lakers vs somebody, but she was calling it and she made a concerted effort to inject a narrative into the game. She was basically hyping up AD and saying we need to realize how great he is. Thought that was corny. She's OK though. But I would prefer any number of former players over her.
