Re: 10/24 - 11/6 Games Discussion Thread
Ausar Thompson has been... I can't find the words.
Spoiler
Defender, https://twitter.com/RedAlternates/st...6OTb7--Cg&s=19
Connector/Active, Rebounder,
Passer.
He's provided more than I expected
Shooter one day?
Some good things are happening in Detroit.
Also noticed Kevin Durant is running plays?
I'm shocked. Double screens and running DHO. We definitely wasted his time [emoji1787][emoji23][emoji1787]
I'm very interested in that Thunder vs Nuggets game at 330 todayLast edited by jeebs9; 10-29-2023, 01:23 PM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Jalen Duren is the best rebounder since Wilt.

Being blown out by the Wizards. Woof.
They did cut the lead and only lost by 7, so that outcome was better than I thought.
Well, they are without 3 starters from last season so there is gonna be an adjustment period. I think when Ja comes back it'll help them out a bit.
Even if they get off to a bad start they can still play for one of the play-in spots.

Not so much concerned with losing to Washington in a game Kispert plays like that, or being 0-3 given the other two losses are Denver and NOP.
It’s just more so the makeup of the team that worries me. Might be somewhat me just not being high on Marcus Smart being a lead guard, but the loss of Tyus Jones was huge. He’s a huge reason they’ve been able to keep winning games when Ja is out the past few years, and they don’t have that type of tempo control and just roster/team/system familiarity on the team anymore.
Right now they are without Ja, Brooks, Adams, Tyus, Kennard, Aldama, and Clarke if we are looking at players who are either gone, suspended, or injured right now. I think Kennard and Aldama are day to day so maybe they’ll be back Monday, but that’s still a lot of turnover and a lot to make up for. Until Ja gets back they are without their best perimeter defender, rebounder, screener, playmaker, and scorer from last years team. Getting Ja back brings back their leading scorer, but all that other stuff is gone for the year. It’s a lot to make up by committee.
I don’t doubt they can get things going back the right direction. Like you said, Ja gets back they should be fighting for a playoff spot or at least a play-in spot. I just think this team will have lots of growing pains. And that’s a big drop from fighting with Denver for the 1 seed before everything happened last year too.
I still prefer they consolidate some pieces. So much turnover that nothing is set in stone right now anyways. Might as well go out and try to get some better talent rather than hoarding depth while they are trying to figure it all out. As much as I love the Ja-Adams pairing they’ve been having to adjust without him for awhile now, I think they need a true starting caliber PF to move JJJ to the 5 permanently.Comment

Chet looking pretty good offensively, about the only positive you can take away from OKC in this one. Denver just making easy work of them, hoping to see some Strawther minutes.Comment

Well yeah but it’s the same thing. Denver making it hard on him, and he’s not responding like a first team level guy. Regardless, still a rough game for him lol.Comment

You see this one doesn't sound like a take. You sound too serious here [emoji23]. But to answer your question. He's 6-7/6-8.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Agree he definitely hasn't responded like he normally does. I just think more people need to start looking at Denver defense as pretty good.Last edited by jeebs9; 10-29-2023, 04:15 PM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
