    Re: Webber complaining already

I think it's more that Webber is unhappy with Obie, rather than him being unhappy with his teammates. Obie does some strange things. For instance, Willie Green averages 22 points in games that Iverson misses, but he's still been benched for a good part of the season. It makes no sense. What the hell could his philosophy be? In Boston, his team jacked up 3 pointers all game and played no defense! It shouldn't be too hard for this Sixers team to become accustomed to that philosophy.

It's time to start campaigning for Mo Cheeks.

For those in the Philly area, tune into NBC 10's Sports Final. They are going to dissect why Chris Webber is unhappy.

            Re: Webber complaining already

Holy crap. This is going to be an ugly UGLY remaining season.

They showed video from the last game agaisnt Atlanta. Webber was sitting down over at the bench area and was looking at one of his teammates and started shrugging, like the person talking to him was asking why isn't he in the game and C-Webb's gestures said "I don't know".

Then, during a huddle, Webber walked away from it acting like he wasn't included (funny, because he really wasn't).

Then when Webber was finally put in the game, he got the ball right away and hit the jumper....and then looked over to the bench and glared at Jim O'Brien.

Howard Eskin then went on to report that people in the Sixers front office, most of them, if not all of them except for Billy King, felt Jim O'Brien was not the right coach for this team and did not wantto hire him. King felt it was ok. The ones that do not like Obie feel he is very stubborn with his coaching and will bench players that do not fit his philosophy. Willie Green, Sam Dalembert, Brian Skinner (I was hard on the guy some, because now that he is getting minutes, he has been playing his a** off) and so on. Kenny Thomas was being benched, especially early in the season. Thomas was then resorted to become a jump shooter (which is bad because of anyone watched Kenny since being with the Kings, he's more than that). I didn't like Kenny Thomas, but this season especially. Now we know why.

Eskin then said even though King knows the deal, he is still behind Obie because he hired him, but the rest of the front office and alot of the players do not like O'Brien. But do not look for Obie to be fired because he has 3 more years left at 4 mil per

Ouch sounds like the Raptors may finally have competition in the soap opera wars now! :y4:

I wonder if King will be so stubborn that if the Sixers struggle for the next year or so he'll still stick to his man which may in turn leading to him being fired? (King) This should definitely be interesting especially since when the trade went down I heard that the Sixers were considered favourites to make the Eastern Conference final.

I always thought C-Webb was somewhat of a drama queen. I personally just don't see his style of play fitting in with AI. Both are guys that love the ball in their hands. Webber loves to set up at the high post and have the offense run through him. AI's more of a drive and dish kind of guy. I really don't see them meshing very well together.

You're only hope is for Obie to get out of there as soon as possible so that his defense isn't imprinted on the minds of the rookies. Its really sad to see Paul Pierce and the rest of the guys who were here in his era on the defensive end now, because they have to un-learn all the ******** rotations. It took until the end of last year for us to stop fronting the post, and just recently we stopped trapping all the picks. The biggest remnant is that Pierce always gives his guy the baseline, because in the past the big man would rotate over for help. Now it just gives up easy buckets and Pierce looks like a doofus. He's not bad when he tries though, I expect him to be much improved next year with another training camp of Doc's system under his belt.

                                The dynasty will return
