If that coach is Larry Brown, HELL YES!

That is his one weakness, he HATES developing young talent.

I dont think Darko is a bust at all, but he did complain about PT, and Joe D told him to start playing hard even in trash minutes and he may start seeing minutes. Since them he has changed his attitude and I havent heard much, if anything, in regards to him complaining

Darko is no bust. Remember the kid's what, 19 years old. He's got loads of talent and if the Pistons give up on him, I have a feeling he'll be a good a fit into alot of other teams. Don't give up on him just because he's a little whiny right now. He'll mature and realize that his time will come.

P.S. Larry hates to play the youngins. Prince is probably the lone exception to that rule.

Since you started this stupid thread I will respond to you. In his last year and a half before coming to the NBA he played sparingly in Europe because they were jealous of him being an NBA draft pick and didnt want to see him make money and leave. So he played every now and then. He comes to the Pistons as raw as you can get and is playing behind the Wallaces and possibly the sixth man of the year in McDyess. Add to that that we have a veteran in Elden. So you tell me why should he play and how could he crack that lineup.

He is 20. He is not ready to play right now and if he was he would not get any minutes considering he had 4 legit big men in front of him. I dont know who your team is but if they drafted someone and there were 4 players better than him at the position why would you play the young guy. He will develop and he isnt going anywhere. Next year I expect to see him play more. Larry doesnt like him but I think he is beginning to turn around on that because its reported that he is practicing and working hard. He is not a bust. If he played for a bunk team he plays. This team isnt bunk.

36 year old Elden freakin Campbell is taking away time from Darko? Damm, I didn't know it was that bad.

That speaks volumes in itself if an old man like Campbell is getting more PT because he's the better player at the moment.

Besides hurting his development, they're probably hurting his confidence. He must be scratching his head and taking a look at all the other 4 players that were drafted around him: LBJ, Melo, Bosh, and Wade.

Your comment of "next year I expect to see him play more" is the exact same thing I thought last season. Well it's pretty obvious his situation hasn't improved.

Looking at the next big man that was drafted after Darko, I would be interested to hear if Dumars would rather have Bosh than Darko right now if given the choice.

For anybody that argues Darko will develop I could just as easily argue he won't develop. Heck as a matter of fact, he hasn't developed or else he would actually be seeing the floor.

He's only cracked the 10min+ barrier 5 times this season and that's even more disturbing when you consider Wallace was suspended after the brawl.

That's not true. During O'Neal's first 2 seasons he played some non-garbage time minutes and of course plenty of garbage time minutes.

So during his first 2 years Darko has averaged 5.4 mins a night, while O'Neal averaged 11.9 mins. O'Neal also didn't rack up anywhere near the same amount of DNP-CD's that Darko has gotten so far.

Also O'Neal wasn't even a lottery pick (17th overall) while Darko is (2nd overall).

You can argue he wont develop and thats fine. How many 16 year olds play in the NBA? When he came to the NBA he had not played regularly since he was 16. How the hell can he be ready to play. Also where he is from conditioning is a myth. He was so damn out of shape when they got him it was pathatic. And you fail to see how he has 3 guys in front of him that are legit. And Olden sucks I know but he can guard Shaq if need be. Darko would get destroyed by Shaq. Olden has a big body. Chris Bosh as good as he is would struggle for minutes too on this team because there is no room for him. Do you understand that or not?

NBA Superstar is right. JO didnt play in Portland because they had players in front of him who were better and developed. Do you think JO was a bust then. He isnt one now. Give it time. He is a different case than others. LeBron and Carmelo wouldnt be the players they are today if they grew up in the ****hole Darko came from. You dont worry about hoops, you worry about living to see the next day.

Youre caught up in this rush to draft high school players. That pick was a gift. They didnt need it to pan out right away because they were a playoff team that made the Eastern Finals when they drafted him. When he starts to play he will be still be young and everything will be fine.
