Embiid to be evaluated in 7-10 days after already missing the past 6 or so games. He got upgraded to Questionable before this past Sunday game to now having knee swelling after a pratice session. At this point, just sit him for the season. Dragging this on doesn't really help anyone. They're not good enough to win without him and they have no chemistry with him when he's out there. They have a tough 14-15 game stretch They're in now. Just focus on recovery for next year

Jazz making their tanking way too obvious and the league won't care.
Sexton out tonight for "rest purposes"
They haven't played since Friday (in the same city) and don't play again until Wednesday.
In a 9 day span he would have played a total of 1 game....and people wonder why fans are tuning out of games.Comment

Get ready for the craziness.
One first for three.
Definitely a huge gamble for Utah. Sure, you're likely trading 3 non lottery picks for a pick which COULD be a lottery pick if the 2031 Suns are anything like the 2010-2020 Suns.
This move sets up a potential Butler deal.
I also heard the Heat could be interested in Bruce Brown.
Also heard a Butler deal could be 4 (OR MORE!?) teams.
I don't see a way a 3 team deal works, but 4 could work.
Suns get Butler
Heat get Brown, another player, firsts
Raptors get cap dump and a pick
4th team gets a cap dump and probably a pick too
Wonder if the Raptors deal Temple in here too, which depending on where he goes, could tie him for the most teams played for (Ish Smith is the record holder). Miami and Phoenix aren't on that list yet so it's possible he could tie the record.Last edited by Majingir; 01-21-2025, 07:25 PM.Comment

Re: Happy New Year!! January Regular Season Discussion 2025
I kept seeing multi-team deal rumors that revolved around Jimmy to Phoenix and Beal to Milwaukee..
But I can't imagine the Bucks really want to give up the contracts required to bring on Beal? Even with Middleton involved they'd need to send out another 20mil? Pat and Lopez aren't huge losses, but even with Middleton being lesser than he was a couple years back (so is Beal) I feel like that's giving up a ton of 2-way value for what likely isn't much of an upgrade..
Lively out 2-3 months it seems with a fracture in his foot. This coming right after Gafford trade rumors. Good thing Dallas didn't already pull the trigger on a Gafford trade. Although Kleber/Powell would likely be serviceable enough for a couple of months.
Bulls taking calls on LaVine and Vooch. The money here could lump them in with the Jimmy Butler madness... I feel like LaVine to Milwaukee would make more sense than Beal.
Bron/AD/JJ all publicly saying they want Rob to make some win-now moves.
Raptors willing to move Brown but I feel like he went from one of the best value players in the league to one of the most over-paid for his current production. He probably still has great value in a small-ish role for a contender, but with the new CBA rules it's tough to swing 23m for that type of player.
Supposedly Rockets in talks with Portland for Robert Williams... I would assume Steven Adams is the money match here, likely waived by Portland, so he could be an option headed to a contender on the cheap in the coming weeks. Lakers want a big, Milwaukee if they trade Lopez could use a big, Golden State needs a big.Comment

Can't have Vassell and Castle guarding Pascal. Barnes has to fight through the screen and try to get back.
Spurs could use another 'big wing' or combo forward in a huge way.

Spurs needed a game like this, TBH.
Wemby is just trying to block everything. [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]

Most impressive 2 game stretch by the lakers. Playing excellent defense and coming together offensively. DFS was a great addition and watching Christie develop into that 3 & D guy is fun to watch.Comment

The sooner they get a deal done the better.
Edit-Apparently they told him at practice he wouldn't be starting their next game so he walked out.Last edited by Majingir; 01-27-2025, 05:02 PM.Comment
