    Wizards-Pacers game recap

Ok, Im not very good at these, but Ill give it a try. I took a crap load of photos, so Ill try to get those uploaded before to long.

    Where to start.

1st quarter - Painfull. The start of the game there was smoke in the stadium and it obviosly bothered both sides.

2nd quarter - what more can I say. I honestly thought I was at a HS game. The game was tied at 29 at the half. I was so shocked I actually took a picture of the scoreboard. I couldnt beleive a NBA team, better yet both, could shoot in the 30%'s for the half

3rd quarter - I am having a hard time remembering much, except the Wizards big run in the quarter. BTW, Jeffs flagrent foul was BS. He hit Steve Blakes shoulder, and Blake did a Reggie flop and hit the ground hard. Blake then got up and pushed Foster, and Jax jumped right in front of Foster. Somehow Foster ended up with a tech and a falgrent.

The funnies thing for me was the end of the 3rd quarter. S.A.R called a bad foul on Dale Davis, and RC went ape ****. He told S.A.R "Why are you still making these bull**** calls. Are you not able to see" I thought for sure he would get a tech, if not ejected, but the ref didnt say a word. After the first free throw the ref told RC firmly to "be quiet" (I didnt see what he said, but it wasnt nice) but I got a kick out of that.)

4th quarter - The Pacers heated up and hit all the 3 pointers they needed in order to pull the game out.

The fans were all great, there was a lot of trash talking, but it was all friendly. There was one Pacers fan in front of me, and when Reggie hit his wide open 3 in the closing minutes of the game, he stood up and someone behind me yelled for him to "sit down" He gave them two birds, and I thoght for sure there would be a fight. Thankfully there wasnt

On a random sidenote, the guy beside me had a friend working the scorers table, and at the end of the game he gave me this years Pacers yearbook. I thought that was very cool.

Ok, Ill do a player recap.

Before I do that, I have to make a comment about one of the refs. I dont know his name, but he was african and he was #55. I just started calling him S.A.R (****ty *** ref). One time in the second and one time in the third quarter a Wizard player went up for a jump ****, ran into his OWN player, and a Pacers was called for a foul. It was so obvious, even the native Wizard fans knew they were getting away with murder. This ref missed a foul on Reggie (Reggie leaned into Arenas on a leaner) and then on the next possesion in the third AJ got hit with a BS foul. The whole team, including RC was on the floor in disbelief at how stupid this ref was, but AJ was so frustrated on the next possesion he got hit was a "tech". My dad , who hates complaining about the refs, even said that may have been the most poorly refereed game he has seen in his 7 years of following the Pacers.

    Ok, onto the players:

Dale - Wow. the Pacers sucked at gettin the boards, but I wanted to marry DD after the game(not really). He just played the way you want your big to play, "big"

James Jones - When I was younger I used to love the 3 pointer. I got the same excitement out of the 3 point shot that I did out of being in a car with a "girl" friend with no shirt on. The last 2 or 3 season I have really been drawn away from the 3 point shot, esp. since it seems the Pacers take to many of them. With that said, James was huge and hit a lot of key shots. I still wish he would drive it to the whole more, but he was huge.

Jax - No one was hitting any jump shots before the game, and I was scared. Jax and Foster both looked hurt. Jax was holding his knee the whole first half, and it looked like he sprained one of his fingers in the 3rd quarter. He ended up with a good game, and I have to admit it always seems like he has more "quiet" high scoring nights. (Its a sidenote, but rite at the end of the game the Pacers were up by 3 and J.J. had a 3 pointer that could have made it a 6 point game. JJ missed it, and as the team went back to the hudle Jax patted JJ on the head and said "Thats ok, we need you to take that shot. Just make it next time. Youll be fine". I really liked that"

A.J. - He had a rough day, but I am getting to like him more and more every day. He really was huge in the Pacers last run, as he was always taking his man off the dribble.

S.Pollard - he played ok, but I was surprised to see how "wet" his jump shot was.

Croshere - You could tell from the start he was going to have one of "those" days...................

Eddie Gill - I was the first to ***** about his bad games, and I have to give him his due today. He hit clutch 3 pointers, and in that last Pacers run he was left wide open. The guy behind me yelled "Eddie, I dare you to take it. You couldnt hit that shot if your life depended on it" Gill drained the 3. I got a kick out of that.

Freddie didnt play, which surprised me.

Ok, I am going to rant now, so if your weak of heart, dont read on. I warned you:

I pay some $125 per ticket for Pacers game. I understand these players get harrassed a lot, but I only get to see Reggie and these guys play 2 times a year, maybe more if the Wizards and Pacers were to meet up in the playoffs.

I got to the game 1 hour before tip-off, and JO was the only one isgning autographs.

After the game I hustled over to the tunnell, and I dont mind security giving me hell, I know how that works after 11/19. But NOT ONE ****ING PLAYER STOPPED FOR AUTOGRAPHS. There were about 25 Pacers fans at the tunnell, and REGGIE RAN RIGHT PAST ALL OF US. James JOnes was interviewd, and he stopped to shake some guys hands and sign this kids shirt, and I thoght that was cool.

Now Reggie really pissed me off with that. I can understand security issues, but we pay good ****ing money for these tickets and I figured Reggie might be nice enough to stop one ****ing time to sign some ****ing autographs.
Hell, I spend a **** load of funny on tickets and apperal and other ****......
and what do I get as a thank you. A big fat, "f u"

I hate complaining about this ****, but damn. I get to go to one, maybe to games a year, and the player cant even stop to sign ANYTHING. I thought that was real ****ing ****ty

They don't owe you an autograph. How would you feel if you just played a long game and then you gotta stop for all the people who want an autograph? You might say that you would sign anybody's paper but in reality. you would be too tired to do that. They don't know how many games you get to go to, they aren't just not stopping just to insult you. You actually expect them to waste time hanging out or siging stuff from every single person that buys stuff with their names on it? THat's very unrealistic.

I never said any one owed me jack ****.

I know that situation, I have many friends who went pro. Granted they were runner, but its the same scenario. Thats why I said I usually dont get to mad about this type of stuff. But it was his last game.

And its not like this is something new. He never honors fans requests on the road *Inster Kobe Bryant joke here* He even said in his book that he didnt do that type of stuff cause one guy asked for a autograph his rookie season and when Reggie didnt give it he went to DW (pacers GM/CEo) and for publicity reasons he gave him free tickets.

As for wasting the time, umm, yeah. I help pay his salary, and JO, Tinsley, and a few other guys were able to "waste there time" to do it, so to answer your quetion "**** yes"

Sorry, you not gonna win with me on this one. I see both sides of the fence, but I also see that i paid damn good money and these guys can show a little respect to the fans, even if they cant live in the teams home state

I do have one funny sidestory:

They did the t shirt toss at the end of the 3rd quarter, and the kid beside me jumped in front of myself and my dad to get the t-shirt. The only catch was they had a "kids" day theme, and the kids threw the shirts in the crowd. The guys (who was my age, at least 19, maybe in his 20's) got a female extra-small shirt that said "6 flags of america" on it.

            I died laughing.
