I was pretty sure Ming was in the game. He is in a ton of the new screenshots.

      Can you please clarify this.

        is the game out today?

EBgames has it for the 22nd but it's still listed as a preorder and a Coming Soon. GameStop also has it as a preorder for the 22nd.

Now I know that they can not be so late, b/c today is the 22nd. is it just that they havent updated their sites yet? Should I be gettin a call from my Gamestop that i have 48 hours to pick up my reserved copy. Please tell me I'll be gettin that call today!

Well I can wait another day or wateva, but i'm just so anxious!!!

Sorry, Ming isn't in the game, but you can create him.

As for the offensive rebounds. If you switch down low and box out, you wont see as many offensive rebounds. The offensive rebound problem is seen more when you are not controlling the men in the paint. The offensive AI seems to gobble them up. I like to play defense in the paint and I've still seen at least 4 to 6 cheesy offensive rebounds a game.

How much of an improvement is it over last year. As you know I was not a big fan of ;ast years version

As you are well aware, I too wasn't much of a fan last year. With the constant blocks, blown layups and dunks, it just never appealed to me. With the addition of the sliders it makes it a whole new game in my opinion. Trust me, I was in the same boat last year, I just couldn't get into it.

your own site has screenshots of Yao playing?? Was he in the game and then removed??

                This seems a bit strange.

Other sites are reporting that he is in the game. Could he have been down in the roster and went unnoticed??

Re: Our NBA Inside Drive 2003 Review

They have about 4 screens of Yao at IGN.

                  And a quote from IGN:

"All of the roster updates have been thrown in so that you get Yao Ming on the Rockets, Vin Baker on the Celtics and Andre Miller on the Clippers. "

I am not disputing what you have said, I am just a bit confused.

I have seen the shots and read elsewhere that he was in.

So, either he was taken out, he appears when you create him, or he is in, but way down on the rosters.

If he is out, that really sucks.

Okay...I read somewhere that ID2003 was going to have at least downloadable roster updates??? Is this true? That would help!

Well, I'll double and triple check tonight, but I know he wasn't on the Rockets roster when I checked last night. Of course it was late, and I was tired....but really, I think I would remember this sort of thing.

Re: Our NBA Inside Drive 2003 Review

This is from the guy at Gamefaqs. His info has been spot on so far.

"Ming is in my version of the game.

Let me clarify something.I got my copy Monday (for free) from my Uncle who works for High Voltage.
My game's case is not the street release case.
All my case has on the front is a big NBA Inside Drive 2003 logo on it with a total black background...and NBA Inside Drive 2003 on the side of the case...the back of the case is black with no screenshots or writing. The booklet inside the case has the Paul Pierce photo on it.By reading and thumbing through it is the same as the one I assume will be in the stores with the game.

I called my Uncle after reading reports from Steve on Operationsports.com that Ming is not in the game.I got a special version that only people of High Voltage/Microsoft who worked on the game made for themselves. That version has Ming in the game...and the rosters are accurate for my version of the game up until Oct. 15th.Steve said Sabonis is in the free-agent list, but in my game he is on the Trailblazers.

Here is the deal.Ming could not be put in the game and was taken out of the final version (one that will be released in stores tomorrow) because of the mess with China taking so long to approve his contract and letting him leave for the United States to play in the NBA.He was not a part of the NBA Players Association yet either and there was other B.S. involving Ming when the game was finished and sent to press.High Voltage/Microsoft didn't want any legal trouble so they took him out.

Everything I have stated is per my Uncle.
SORRY to all, if I confused people.I thought I received the same version of the game, that will be released on the street.

By most other accounts I have the same version that will be released...except for a few player additions that will not be in the released version."

We will just have to see I guess.

Steve, if he is not in your version, could you please try to create him and see if his info, numbers and name is in the database still?

I would like to know if when we create him, it will bring up his database info or if it will say his name in the commentary.

                        Thanks.

                          hey evilive,

since you have a dif version from what we'll be able to buy, could you post the attributes and ratins of the Yao Ming in your game? we can then create him as if he was already there (i hate creating players and making them too good/bad in relation to the other players - feels like cheating)

and if you could, could you give us your impressions of the game. comparing/contrasting with Steve's?

                          your input is much appreciated

                          thanks

Actually, everything in quotes was from another guy I have been talking to.

He said that he will get them to me tonight or tomorrow morning.

I will post them in a new thread here as soon as I get them.

The 2003 version of Microsoft's Xbox basketball game will ship next week.

Just in time for the start of the NBA season, Microsoft has announced that NBA Inside Drive 2003 is complete and will ship on October 24. Codeveloped by Microsoft Game Studios and High Voltage Software, the new 2003 version includes a career management mode, in which players have up to 25 seasons to build the next basketball dynasty. For more details, check out our previous coverage of the game.

I hope it's released today gamespot has it being released today and so does eb and the others well "shipping today". THis is a story that was posted last weekend and i kind skipped by it because gamepro is usually off.

If anyone gets it today or tomorrow please post your impressions
