If ever the term fanboy applied it would be here, but anyway ...

I have both games and ID 2003 is not a crappy game in my option. Both games have there good points and actually after playing ID 2003 i thought about taking 2K3 back but i plan on getting NCAA 2K3 so i figured i keep it. It's all a matter of opinion.

IMO, for online play get SEGA's College Basketball game. That can be your online play. Inside Drive has the more correct NBA flow down, but College BBall is more deliberate and slow... so SEGA's game is prolly better for that, plus you got your online stuff.

Inside Drive could be your NBA game for franchise etc. That's what I'm doing at least.

so back to my roommate who didn't like ID2003 the second he saw it.

I was playing the game, gettin my butt kicked like always (made a strong comeback though) and he started to actually watch the game. After the game, I thought to myself, he still isn't feeling it. He likes Live, so I'm gonna give him a taste of what he likes.

i head straight to practice mode with the Raptors. Throw down a dunk (through the legs) with Vince and play the replay for him. He stared at it and was like, "hmmmm". I kept doing dunks and he just kept watchin. Then he just took the control away from me and asked what's the shoot button. I told him, he started dunking like crazy with Vince. (I think I gave him a reason to like the game)

His comments after were, "this is not bad at all. This is a good pick up. Not bad, man"

He played a quick game with the Clippers and was absolutely loving the game. His only gripe -- the controller. He's never used an XBOX before so he has some gettin use to.

He now likes the game. He even asked if he could play while i was gone.

          ahhhh, success!

he claims he can beat me. so i guess i'll be having some 1 on 1 battles

just great, my first huge blow.

somethin happened to my cd. It might be a scratch but the marks on it don't look too damaging. Well whatever it is, the game keeps freezing on me and then emits a loud annoying sound.

dayam, just about to start a franchise...now i gotta wait to take it back and have it exchanged!

              You keep thinking that.

Unless 2k3's gameplay (ie...pace, player control, cross over animations, dribble animations) have changed substantially for last year it's not (IMHO) a better B-Ball game.

It's got features I wish ID had (720p, online play), but just like last year...having more features does NOT make it a better game.

How can you change the name of players who aren't created??

                  Yes that is Yao

And you CAN NOT edit names of existing players. You can only edit their gear and chatter level (which I have no idea what it does).

Anyone see any instances where chatter comes into play? Is it with the ref? (I see some guys argue over calls, some dont, but usually it's late in the game with a close score) Is it just with other players? What is this chatter they speak of?

I just got my copy today! I have 2k3 also for the Xbox. In my opinion, ID's gameplay is funner and the sound is ALOT better! Both are great games however.

roughneck actually all of that stuff is much improved outside of maybe pace, but I like 2k3's pace. not trying to defend the comment though, ID sounds damn good too.

As for the roommate story, you need to go get an S controller. If you're still using that big *** thing your hands must be the size of Andre the Giant.

wwharton, I do have an S controller. However, he was using the big one that came with the system.

I asked him if he wanted to use the smaller controller I have and he said no.

I dont think the problem was the size of the controller. It was more the gettin used to the button placement and the white/black buttons. He just wasnt familiar with the controller.

Also, I have no problem with the bigger controller. I actually prefer it to the smaller one. I just feel that the S is too small and feels like nothin in my hands. And my hands aren't the size of Andre the Giant, either. I have small thin hands and i'm fine with the controller.

lol, yankee, sorry if I offended you I was just messin around.

I went out and bought a second s controller so I wouldn't have a "home court advantage" when my friends came over. I think the white and black buttons are in a more logical location on the big controller but there's nothing else about it that I like better.

I actually have one japanese S controller and one american and I don't really even like the american one. It's much stiffer, like the big controller is.

nah you didnt offend me man. I was just sayin that I have small hands and dont have a problem with the control. I guess its up to personal preference.

I remember when i went to buy a second controller. I enjoyed the bigger one so much that I didnt want an S controller. I go into a store and ask if they still have any left. They say to me, "No, why would you want that? The smaller one is better. The bigger one is terrible."

I'm thinkin to myself, "I dont care what you like, I'm gettin what I like." But they are retailers so I cant argue with 'em. Its their job to sell.

The S controller isnt bad by the way. I've used it before and dont mind it. But if there was a basketball/baseball/football tournament, I would not join unless I could use my big controller.
