    Re: If It Happens......

Interesting thread. Thanks for getting my back guys.

No worries poster. I wasn't offended or anything.

It's true what everyone was saying, I wasn't attacking or implying that a Heat/Pistons series would be boring. I was just saying that a Suns/Nuggets series would have a lot more action. Seeing guys running constantly and the scores hitting close to 130 would be great. It'd be like the 80's all over again.

Oh, and it wasn't boring to watch the Pistons win last year, but it was horrible to see my team lose like that!!! Damn!!! DAmn!!! DAMn!!! DAMN!!! *sigh* Oh well. What can you do.

I have nothing but respect for the Pistons and their organization. Joe D, to me, is one of the best GMs in the game. He's put together a great team.

But back to topic. Well, let me go opposite of the topic.

The one series that I really don't want to see is a Pistons/Spurs series. That would bore the hell out of me. I couldn't watch any game. 60-62 for the final score. Man! Great D probably, but not fun for anyone.

I don't know, why do people think that good defensive basketball is boring? Personally I would love to see a great defensive performance over matador defense anyday, because it shows the effort and hustle.

Honestly, I love great D also. A great block/charge/hustle play gets me almost as excited as a great dunk. The thing is tho, you need a balance on that. Great D as well as good to great offense. That would be the most fun to watch.

The reason I say the Pistons/Spurs series would be boring is because

          A) I don't like the Pistons (obvious reasons)
          B) I don't like the Spurs (should be obvious as well)
          C) Their offenses are average to good. Both their team D is amazing. So, both teams shooting at 37% (I exaggerate) isn't that fun. Manu vs Prince would be the most fun to watch in that series.

Disclaimer: When I say don't like the teams, it's not any players (cause I actually like them), the franchises (cause they're class acts), or anything like that. It's just cause of history.

I would like to see a Pistons\Suns final. It would be really interesting to see each team try and force the other team to play their style. I may be a tad bias but I also prefer basketball where there is defense. Pheonix are fun to watch but I like the intesity of a defensive battle. The Pistons\Pacers series last year was perfect. Every single possession mattered and being at 2 of the gsames you could feel it throughout the arena. Great stuff.

I can't wait to see the Pistons "bore" the run and gun fans again this year in the finals
