    Raptors Nest(05-06)

I can't wait for this season to start. I can honestly say, that this might be the most athletic team we've since since the T-Mac/ VC days. You're starting to see Babcock's plan being in place and how he's molding this team into an athletic squad with players that have various amount of skills.

Even though we may only win 33 games, this may be the most exciting season in a while just because we have so much young talent on the team. Grambo, Villanueva, Calderon, Sow and even Bonner and of course, Bosh, are all going to be big parts of the rebuilding process. I'm hoping we get Grambo and CV at least a good 15-20 minutes per game this season. We need to know what they can do. Mitchell can't be stubborn about playing to rooks this year like he was last year with Hoffa. Even if Jalen and Eric play 38-40 minutes per game, we are still not a playoff team.

I'm wondering who will be starting at the point. From everything I've read, JC is a pass first point guard, who has a great jump shot, but he plays under control. Mike James is a guy who seems to be more suited as a sparkplug off the bench. I believe MJ starts on November 1st, but it won't be too long before JC is the starter.

This is the year wear Chris Bosh shows he's one of the best PF in the east, let alone in the league. With Rafer gone, I think he has similar numbers to the one's KG posted in his 3rd and 4th season's in the league.

Looking forward to the season. We may suck, but there is no doubt that there will be a more exciting, athletic team on the court this year...

Man, great game by Villanueva yesterday. That was a sick block at the end.

I will go on record now as saying we will grab the last playoff spot in the east. BOOK IT!

God, our team can't rebound for ****.

Hoffa, 17 minutes, 1 board... What a joke.

At least Villauneuva (sp) played pretty well. I'm a little surprised at that. It looks like he could be a solid NBA player. Maybe not a star but he'll be a contributor.

Villenueva certainly surprised me. 15 pts and 4 blocks? wow. Now to work on the rebounding...

Tierre Brown was also good. Hope these aren't 1 time deals. I was watching the score last night and it didn't show the team playing. It was horse racing, and even though it was 42-29 raps with 6:34 left in the 2nd. I can't believe they lost.

This season should be exciting for Raptors fans. I know the chances of us getting into the playoffs aren’t that good. But just like someone mentioned, this team will be exciting to watch since they are young and athletic. Bosh improves every season, so I cant wait to see him in action. Charlie in my opinion was a good addition to the team. I have seen some of Grahams videos, and this guy is very athletic. I don’t have any problems with the Raptors this season. I hope we make the playoffs, but realistically it wont happen. But I personally just want to see this young team in action. And by 2007 I think we will have a strong team, and we will most likely have Magloire as a Raptor by then.

Good Luck for the Raptors tonite!

I think they might have a better season then most people are saying. At least they'll be entertaining and the vibe will be completely different from last year. There shouldn't be any soap opera stuff going on again.

                      Re: Raptors Nest(05-06)

Sam Mitchell does not know what he's doing out there. Matt Bonner got brutalized so badly last night it wasn't even funny. Why he was out there to end the game, I will never know.

Why the hell he benched Bosh is beyond me. Especially when, in the second half, he was starting to get his scoring going.

Jalen Rose has to go. It's a must. He cares too much about his scores over the rest of the teams. Stupid charging fouls, complaining all the time. And that turnover late in the game killed us. He doesn't want to defer to Bosh either. He had CB4 open with great position late in the game, but failed to pass it to him.

Calderon needs to start as of next game. Why the hell did he play so little in the 2nd half? Same with Hoffa. Mitchell's rotations were horrendous last night.

Mo Pete is going to excel off the bench...JG looked good in the 1st, but forced the isssue too much in the 2nd and he got a bit lazy...I got what I expected out of Mike James. He's not a true point, but he can stick the open trey, pressure the ball and drives with authority...Anyway, it's only one game, but I didn't like what I saw out of the rotations and on defense.

                        Re: Raptors Nest(05-06)

Yeah that was baffling about Mitchell keeping Bosh on the bench at the end of the game. I'll give a possible reason for Bonner being out there. He can keep defenses honest with the threat of a 3 pointer which theoretically should open up opportunities in the paint.

I just about yelled at my tv when Jalen Rose got called charging at the end. I know he was trying make something happen but jeez pass the ball! Didn't the Raptors have a full TO when that happened tho? I was expecting them to call a TO and set up a play rather then running out there like chickens with their heads cut off.

The positive tho is that the young guys played pretty good for the most part. Hopefully the rotations and defense is a lot better against NJ.

I'm going to the Raptors game tonite against NJ, should be a great game....and no, I will not be booing VC. The good memories of VC being a raptor overmatch all of the bad ones.
