Re: official Orlando Magic team thread

The Magic come out flat tonight against the Pacers and could never keep up with them, losing the final game on the six game road trip and ending up 4-2. JJ got some PT tonight, making his first NBA 3 pointer and missing his first NBA FT attempt. The Magic return home to play the Pistons on Dwight's 21st birthday, playing the next 7 of 9 games at home before Christmas.

In other news, the formerly named TD Waterhouse Centre was renamed Amway Arena today, pending city council approval. They were supposed to have a deal with a real estate company, but good old Rich's company must have been the "last resort". Amway also earns first dibs on the naming rights to the new events center planned downtown. At least it isn't named after a waste company, but it doesn't get much lower than this.

Winning 4 of 6 on the road trip was good, but it isn't so good they they got blown out 2 of the last 3 games on the trip. Hopefully getting back home will settle them down.

What a stinker of a game...probably the worst officiating for both sides I have seen so far this season, and we lose Hedo with an ankle injury in the first half. Dwight had a good game with 25 and 10, but it was a quiet 10 rebounds and that isn't good. He didn't seem very active on the offensive boards tonight, and that was pretty much the story in Indy on Wednesday as well. Not having Hedo and his 3pt shooting hurt down the stretch and the Pistons were able to play zone and pack it in, leading to poor shots and bad decisions. It also didn't help that Chauncey had a huge game and a season high with 31 points. The experience of the Pistons showed tonight, and that was the difference down the stretch.

The Magic need to bounce back tomorrow at home with a Iverson-less Sixers and take care of business early in the game. Otherwise, we could see the beginning of a quick downward spiral, playing 5 games (Phoenix, Cleveland) in the next 7 days.

And of course, the Magic played to the level of their competition last night, barely beating the Sixers by 2 and dodging a huge bullet last night. Dwight was awesome last night...in the first half, then he disappeared for most of the second half. But it wasn't all his fault, as the Sixers once again threw a zone at the Magic and it limited his touches in the second half. Bogans went down last night with an ankle injury, eerily similar to what happened to Hedo from the night before. This team is going to suffer without a legit 3pt threat the next week or so...I think now might be the time to give JJ a few looks this week.

Monday's game should be a fun one...the Suns and their 9 game winning streak come to town.

Lost 5 of their last 7 and have looked pretty bad in doing so, not even keeping most of the losses within double digits.

Dwight with a 30 point, 25 rebound game last night in a route @golden state. This guy is truly half man, half beast.

well guys it appears the wheels have fallen off. We need a trade, but around this time all the rumors sworm and nothing usually comes about. We are not making the playoffs especially under Brian Hill.
