Well folks, this is it. The Eagles suck, the Flyers suck, and baseball season is almost half a year away. The Sixers are our only hope and the time is now to get behind them.
Is there a better starting five in the NBA? I really don't think so. And yes, before anyone asks, Kevin Ollie is actually rumored to be starting for this team with Ashton Korver coming off the bench. Talk about an embarassment of riches. Korver off the bench? That's depth, baby! Double K for trey!
As we enter the new season, questions abound. Such as....
At what point in the season will Mo Cheeks realize that a coaching commitment to defense is impossible to install with a roster of players who have no interest or ability in playing defense?
Will the NBA preemptively give Kyle Korver the 6th Man award, or will they actually make him play out the season?
Can Samuel Dalembert regress even further than he did last season?
Can Chris Webber jump higher than 2 inches?
Which will happen first - Billy King gets fired, makes a horrendous trade, or signs another former Duke player who stinks?
Has anyone actually realized that Ivan McFarlin is on the Sixers? And more importantly, does anyone know who Ivan McFarlin is?
Me personally, I'm looking forward to an exciting season. That excitement may not translate into a lot of wins, but this is the NBA! This is showtime! It's all about the excitement. Let's keep this thread active throughout the year, if for no other reason than that all other Philadelphia sports suck. At least my expectations for this team are low enough such that they can't possibly disappoint me. Woohoo!
