hey guys, why are there so few team threads here?
anyway, i'm quite excited for next season.. i think dallas is still a good contender for the championship.. it will be hard, but it's not so farfetched..
FREE AGENTS
one of the first things the team has to do is retain it's free agents, especially jason kidd.. the other 2 guys i'd like the mavs to keep is bass and green..
keeping jason kidd is a no-brainer.. he's the best point guard we have and can have for the moment, and he's really been great in his stay in dallas.. he's still one of my favorite pg's, so i hope cuban does everything he can to keep kidd in dallas..
brandon bass is someone who i think was very under-used last year.. he's athletic, hardworking, and young.. there's no reason to not keep him unless some team overpays him..
gerald green is still an enigma.. i like him because he's still very young (22 years old) and still has lots of potential in him.. he's never gonna be a lockdown defender, but he's a good scorer.. anotehr plus is that the mavs can get him for cheap since he hasn't really proved anything in the nba yet.. like bass, the mavs should resign him unless some team overpays..
as for the signing of marcin gortat.. i was very glad about this move.. we need a center, bad... gortat's not the best center in the world, but i've seen him play, and he can be very effective on both ends.. what do you guys think about this signing?
TRADES
there hasn't been any trade talks about the mavs yet.. nothing i've heard of anyway.. but i hope the mavs are exploring options on how to move damp and stack.. i think i read an article in yahoo! sports that said the pistons could trade rip to the mavs for damp, i think that's possible too as the pistons need a center, especially now that sheed is definitely gone from them.. with stack, he also has an expriing contract, like dampier, so i don't think he's gonna be too hard to move.. and this one, i think the mavs has to absolutely do..
another guy i think they should look into trading, is josh howard.. i love the guy, i think he played great during the playoffs.. but he's had some personal problems, and has been a little too injury prone this past season.. another thing is that he's already 28 now, he's still a good player, but i think they should consider trading him this offseason while he still has some good value on him..

i don't really know who's gonna play yet.. is beaubois playing with us this year? i like calathes, but he's playing overseas this coming season right? who do you guys think should the mavs have picked during the draft? it's a little late, but it would be nice to discuss..
