Foye, an unrestricted free agent, is interested in the Knicks and their mid-level exception of $3 million, which came about based on the early Bird rights ruling.

While the Knicks will likely want to use that $3 million on one of the top point guard free agents, Steve Nash, Andre Miller or Raymond Felton, any of those veterans could demand more than that per year. So that could leave Jason Kidd, who sounds like he's the most willing to accept a veteran's minimum contract and to either be a starter or backup mentor to Jeremy Lin.

Then, the Knicks could also retain Novak using his early Bird rights and re-sign J.R. Smith, who decided not to opt in, to 120 percent of his previous year's salary using a non-Bird exception (around $2.8 million). They could also use a second veteran's minimum of $1.4 million to sign Lamar Odom.

I know but he's wearing out his welcome and turning into a clown. Injuries, the fire extinguisher, now this. But he'll still talk about reading books and Judaism. Actions speak louder than words, he's not fooling anybody. Our fanbase will start to turn on him.

I would take Foye in a heartbeat, I like his game and toughness, though that hurts our ability to get a quality back up PG.

If Nash will take the $3 MM then he's coming here. That's how I feel. If he gets a nice $15 MM/3 Year deal elsewhere, I won't fault him for jumping on it.

But, I wonder if picking up Foye would really hurt that much. Can all of those semi-productive point guards really be scooped up for the mid-level? I'm not believing so. I don't think they'll have a huge selection of guards to pick, but I'm thinking the Knicks might still be able to turn around and get somebody more than decent to back up at the veteran's minimum (coughKiddcough).

The rumors out there now are that Nash will be getting $8-10m/yr offers and he said money is important to him. I'll be very surprised if he winds up here.

I believe Kidd said the same thing regarding his compensation. I don't think he's ready for "vet min" status yet.

Our SG depth is scary right now. Which is why I think they'll draft a SG.

Everyone is raving about Darius Johnson-Odom but I don't like the fact that he is so undersized. That Kevin Murphy kid that YEAH mentioned really intrigues me.

Yeah, I think Murphy would be a great 2nd round pick. NBADraft.net thinks he might actually go undrafted, but from what I've read, he was torching everyone at pre-draft camps.

I actually wouldn't mind if the Knicks tried to get Jordan Farmar or Jonny Flynn if they'd take close to a minimum contract.

Kidd would be good too just because he can move the ball between Melo, Amare, and Novak well, and had a pretty good chemistry with Chandler in Dallas, but I'm not sure he wants to play for the Knicks. Seemed like he wanted to be Deron's backup in Brooklyn from what I've heard.

Knicks gotta get some cheap big bodies and at least somebody that can create shots off the bench. I don't think they should bring JR Smith back though. Just doesn't seem like a winner to me.

-Shumpert tore his ACL and won't be back until January at the earliest.

-JR will be back probably on a long-term deal. Not popular around here, but I don't mind if he's here. I think Woodson needs to stay on him and have a tight leash but I think JR can be a John Starks-type player for us.

-I want no part of the Landry experiment anymore. I wish Landry the best and hope he goes to a team that likes to get up and down the court like Phoenix. But I'm tired of him. One of the worst basketball IQs in the league and I'm not exaggerating.
