Don't wanna hear any fluff pieces, Devil's Advocate or whatever...Melo has one of the lowest basketball IQs in the league and there is no denying it."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Well Porzingis was exciting. Everything else sucked.
Defense awful all game. ****ing miserable watching Felton play well against us.
Melo getting the technical and then whatever he was trying to do on that screen killed us down the stretch.
I know he's had his moments, but I really don't like Seraphin's game and would rather see O'Quinn out there.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

absolutely awful. what is on their mind for the coaches in the defensive department? i never see onball screen switches so frequent in phil's days. yes, offball maybe. ron harper/mj/pippen switch to chase reggie miller off the screens. this knicks .... they need to watch the spurs. their hedge defense is so well executed.
and then when the mavs switched on them, they rushed the attack and not able to exploit the mismatch.
i really hate the way the players were subbed out. got one instance both grant and williams missed open shot. they were out in the next time-out. c'mon the guys need to be comfortable in taking the shots, and not fear or pressured to take the shots. knowing they would go back to the bench after a misfire could lose their confidence in shooting.
i almost want to smash the screen.Comment

Everyone seems to believe the same thing. I haven't seen any footage.

Wow look at that... the Knicks win a game due to O'Quinn getting minutes and Calderon riding the pine in favor of perimeter defense. What an outrageous concept.

I thought the same thing (didn't we all) with O'Quinn and Calderon.
Why it takes coaches so long to see what fans see is beyond me. It's like the louder we are, the more they refuse to do it so it doesn't seem like they listen to fans.
Maybe.

For example I would never rely on Calderon to guard a starting NBA point guard for extended minutes and expect to win games... but maybe thats just me."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

I don't think it's ever as simple as us fans make it and I'm sure it's not a foreign thought to the coaching staff. We're only really concerned about Ws and Ls. Coaches have much more to worry about.

It's clear to me at least that Fisher likes Amundson and Thomas' defensive versatility. I think that's the main reason why Amundson was playing over KOQ for a while.
Thomas has proven to be reliable enough on the offensive end of the floor so there isn't much to complain about regarding him."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I'm not suggesting Calderon get cut or traded like some across the internet have said. I just think when you see that a player can't defend against other players, you might want to actually try to win the game by playing someone that can. That's not even a long term project. That's just game-to-game."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Definitely true. There is much more for them to consider. But it does seem that some things are pretty clear cut.
