I hope - and I realize this is probably a bit too hopeful - that Phil is on one of those mind-bending journeys while vacationing. Analyzing the decision and reading a book about making tough decisions that could disappoint a close friend. Perhaps maybe he might even close his eyes and dream of Blatt and/or Vogel parading down the sidelines of a playoff game, screaming for Porzingis to take the three. And he will wake up and ask his assistant for Vogel's phone number while adding, "I need it today, not after Vogel signs elsewhere."

Only explanations for what he's doing are:
1. He's legitimately conflicted, and is taking his time to think this over.
2. He's worried about Dolan approving Rambis and is waiting until its too late to hire anybody else.
We are the Knicks, so its probably #2.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Looks like Mills put some calls out to Vogel to touch base before Phil comes back
Originally posted by Marc Berman and Fred KerberThe Knicks made contact Friday with the agent for former Pacers coach Frank Vogel, but have not yet requested an interview, according to NBA sources.
According to a source, Knicks GM Steve Mills did preliminary due diligence in contacting Vogel’s reps. He expressed that Phil Jackson has not made a decision on how to proceed. The key to the exploratory phone call was finding out whether Vogel would have interest in the job, and it seems he does.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Damn, even Sam Hinkie got more votes from the other executives than Phil Jackson.

Hinkie shouldn't have gotten a vote but it's only for the top three apparently. Not surprised Phil didn't get a vote - he's been good but certainly not top three. Nothing to see here..."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Phil didn't do anything worthy of being the top exec, but like ehh said he's done a fine job and certainly not a bad one. Headlines pointing out he didn't get votes are as useful as those saying Aaron Afflalo didn't get any MVP votesOriginally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: The 2016 New York Knicks: Now that we're done tanking...
I'm not happy with Phil, especially with his stubborness and inability to think outside the box (triangle). I want a f-n plan, and I want a real coach here, not one of his puppets.
We've had 15 years of (mostly) crap, and I've run out of patience.
I was watching the Mike & the Mad Dog reunion show and they were talking to Van Gundy of how the Garden used to be in May. How long do we have to wait to get that back?Last edited by Jeffx; 05-10-2016, 05:53 PM.Comment

I think Phil has done fine so far, but everything changes if he hires Rambis.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

That ****ing idiot Vescey criticized Frank Vogel for underperforming with the roster he had and then suggests Mark Jackson as an alternative to Rambis...done with him, all these reporters, all of the speculation, sign on the dotted line and wake me up when the ink dries.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
