    Hatton vs Maussa?

    http://www.fightnews.com/

Promoter Frank Warren said today that a unification fight between IBF 140lb champ Ricky Hatton and WBA champ Carlos Maussa is "an option." Warren acknowledged a rematch clause between Maussa and dethroned champ Vivian Harris, but asked "Who is going to want to watch that rubbish again and which TV company is going to pay for it?" Warren also lashed out at Harris, whom he says rejected a $750,000 offer to fight Hatton. "Harris should have taken the money because now he will have to fight for peanuts," said Warren. "But I knew he was an idiot because after he turned down the fight with Hatton he took on Oktay Urkal for a fraction of the money we were offering him. I've never seen a champion look so bad in the ring. He was unfit and badly out of shape, I don't know what his trainer Manny Steward had been doing with him in the gym."
I think its smart for Hatton, avoid Floyd for now, get a nother belt possibly and make the match with Floyd even more interesting.

I agree, smart for Hatton. Harris fought like a damn idiot, and that is the only reason Maussa won. Now Hatton should benefit from that. A focused Vivian Harris who fights with an actual gameplan would give Hatton much more trouble than Maussa.

Speaking of Hatton, is anyone else about sick and tired of him refusing to fight anywhere but Manchester yet? I understand the economic reasons for him doing so, but good god. If/when he steps in the ring with Mayweather, I hope it's in Vegas, or at least AC.

I love watching him fight in manchester. The crowd response is tremendous, and they are extreamly into the fight...gives him a major homecourt factor.

Speaking of which...it didnt seem like Atlantic city was too into the fight this past weekend.(i know gatti got whoped, but they were kinda dead in the enterence and 1st round as well)

If Gatti had been able to, say, land maybe a punch or two, the crowd would have been into it. They got completely sucked out of the fight in the 1st round when Floyd began peppering Arturo's dome like a speed bag-one that didn't move.

This writer actually picked Maussa to beat Vivian "Vance" Harris.
Vivian Harris is a world champion but his name is not a power punch in the boxing world. He is the W

I'd like to see a Hatton-Maussa fight, but Hatton knows there's some pretty big money in a battle with Mayweather, so why risk it? I think his next fight will be against Floyd.

I see both Mayweather and Hatton each fighting at least one "safe" fight before meeting in the ring. Maussa really is not that much of a threat to any of these top guys as long as they do what they have been doing. Harris only lost to him because he fought like an idiot, deciding to go headhunting and eschewing any kind of a gameplan. When you fight that sloppy, you are more times than not going to get caught on the button. Maussa is just too rangy for most guys to get in there and start swinging wildly with. If Hatton fights his fight, he would dominate the hell out of Maussa.

                ^LOL!

With Hatton's WWF style and Maussa's hands-down, let's just swing for it style, this would be a great fight to watch. Especially if it's NOT in Manchester.

Hatton has to fight somewhere outside of Manchester and if he doesn't, he isn't a true champ to me.

Hate to say it, but I'm a fan of Maussa's now (only in the sense of the entertainment factor). He goes for broke and lays it on the line and is an easy target. If he wants to go toe-to-toe with someone, I'll watch.

What is warren talking about?? It wasnt that Harris was in bad shape he was swinging for the fences since the opening bell.
