    FNR3 screenshots

Check it out, a bunch of screens from a magazine about Fight Night 3:http://www.cellington.com/fightnightr3

Here's a summary of the article too, courtesy of Tyrant from http://www.boxinggamers.com:

*****Fight Night Round 3 for XBOX 360 and Playstation 3*****

    ---------------------

For now here is the information I typed up from the article:

    Notes from the article:

-the game sure has the next gen look down
-far more than looks, it feels like you are actually there
-gloves, shorts, and ropes all animate with same type of detail and attention shown in the characters
-the team hopes to fill gaps in the roster with the absence of guys like Tyson and Oscar in previous games
-this time the fighter's actual body types, skin (scratches, tatoos, physique, muscles) are all laser scanned as well as their face...no reused body models anymore...
-muscles moving in their skin, tendons flexing, shadows moving across their bodies in realtime, as well as light reflecting off of their sweaty bodies
-real venues in detail like Madison Square Garden...they aquired the actual blueprints of the arenas to model after...
-little things like dust particles and beams of light float and shine through the air in a place like the warehouse to emphasize the gritty feeling and daytime fighting...(you HAVE to see these screenshots to see what they are talking about...it truly is amazing)
-all clothing (shoes, trunks, gloves, etc) are created using photographs and texture scans...

now we get onto the gameplay

-the HUD is gone..(heads up display showing the healthbars, etc)
-the game is designed (the graphics and gameplay) to not need the HUD as the emotion, look, stamina, status of the fighters will be shown in facial and bodily expressions/gestures...
-facial expressions change as they fight (when they throw punches, take punches, get tired)
-FNR3 is a game of reading your opponent rather than looking at healthbars...
-the grunts and groans also dictate the type of punishment a fighter is taking or dishing out
-you will actually be able to hear the fighter's breathing patterns...they get louder and heavier as they get tired...
-this is all designed to make the fighting immersive like real boxing rather than a couple of generic fighting game models with gloves on and a healthbar...

now we get to new features

-new camera that gets closer to the action and really shows off the look
    -focus on rivalries
-rivalries will play a MAJOR part in FNR3 career mode now to add drama
-with EA's recent partnership with ESPN, fights will now begin with a video montage that explains the history between the two fighters and end with a similar segment that breaks down the fight and replays the highlights...the game will actually record the entire fight and play back the best moments
-commentators will discuss the competition between the two fighters...and sometimes will appear onscreen in a small window (the commentators)...
-sometimes scheduled FUTURE opponents will show up during your fight and talk a little smack to distract you...
-between scheduled fights, rivalries and ESPN video footage will continue to come into play...
-in R2 you choose from a small selecting of training to bulk up...you can still do that...but now there are more targeted exercises like watching tapes of an upcoming opponent to learn how he fights to grant bonuses in upcoming matches
-althought boxers in R2 all fought the same, fighters in R3 with be like their real life counterparts...though fast on his feet and hands, Ali in Round 2 fought like any other fighter...the goal with R3 is to capture the styles of EACH boxer so exactly that they are all identifiable by the way the move and fight...
-EVERY BOXER IN THE GAME WILL NOW HAVE AN INDIVIDUAL FIGHTING STYLE with unique strengths and weaknesses...by studying their tapes and working with experts in different aspects of boxing, you can better cope with their advantages.
-for example, the highlight reel of a boxer may reveal that he throws a lot of power punches...so you can work with a trainer who is a master of taking big shots...you will then enter the fight with bonus to your attributes
-the gear you chose will also play into the strengths of the fighter...but it is not like Round 2...this time it is more like if your fighter has longer forearms, then wearing longer gloves will give you a natural advantage when blocking (can anyone say Winky Wright like defense?)
-The uniqueness of fighters extends to how they bleed and bruise..damage basically like previous games where constant damage to one area damages it more
-fighters will dynamically bruise like previous games...
-a new feature is "Super Punch" (don't worry, it is just their new replay system)...it is the new replay system to REALLY get in close on punches that knocked the fighter down (basically what you saw at E3
-thus showing the ripples in the fighters skin as they take shots to the chin, cheek, stomach (the fat shakes in their body when you land)

-along with superpunch replay, individual fighting styles, ESPN presentation, HUDless display (no bars), and rivalries, EA is dedicated to improving on every aspect of the game that was NOT possible to effectiveness with previous consoles

(the game is expected to be release in the early part of next year for XB360...so basically around the same time as the past two FN games...SAVE UP! It will also be for PS3 later)

    Then quick news on PSP.

Fight Night Round 2 will be available for PSP and looks pretty much like the PS2 counterpart in the screenshots (though they specifically say it doesn't look as good as the PS2 , GC and XB versions)

    ______________________________________________

Sounds like theyre definitely going in the right direction with a lot of things. Individual styles, and no dumb arcade style "energy bars"!

Those are great. I just hope that they balance out the haymakers and stuff. Man, those screens sure do look nice. It seems like it's so far away. So juicy my goodness. I didn't think EA was going to drop it like that but them boys sure did put some butter out. I hope they have a lot more of everything in there too. I really wanted to get more out of Round 2. I wonder what VC/T2 will come out like when it's time. Those graphics are sweet.

Yeah, no doubt. I never even planned on giving Microsoft any of my money, since they have plenty, but dayummm, now that the 360 will have this game long before any other console, i just might have to offer up myself for some raping too, lol.

Who cares man.. As long as EA doesn't fix the Haymaker, blocking, & stamina, all the cosmetic touches won't do a damn thing.. 2 was more arcady then 1.. Again, the FN series is not close to being a sim.. & it's awful online 90% of the players only chose HW.. 90% fight like a tough man.. Hay maker is gay.. Kudo angered the boxing sim crowd with FN2.. It was geared towards tekken players.. Kudo knows nothing about the sport.. The ratings are mostly flawed, & there needs to be more ratings.. I'm glad the rest of you have short term memory.. & just cause it's next gen doesn't mean EA is going to get it right..Expect the same arcade BS in FN 3,4 & 5..

I don't think the haymaker was "Gay" .. it was just not used correctly. What is the use of good ratings if the gameplay is flawed? You can be an EA *****, that's cool with me. I'm just glad that ANY company makes a boxing game. This sport has been ignored for to many years and I hope more companys start to make them.

Most of the general public only cares about heavyweights. Since that is something that will never change, I pray that they do some kind of justice to the division. PLEASE GIVE US: Tyson, Lewis, Foreman, Klitschkos, Bowe, Moorer, etc. And instead of guys with purple hair and crap, add journeymen like Mercer, Lyle, Golota, Quarry, etc. Please also add up and comers in the division like Valuev, Harrison, Peter, etc. For once I would like them to put some kind of effort into the roster. It is embarrassing that they do not contract more fighters.

This sounds amazing! Now all we need is an in-depth create a fighter, with fighter tendencies and more then the mundane six or so ratings.

I can't wait to play this game come February.

                            Thanks for the information!

                              From GameInformer magazine...

"Something so detailed and smooth, the naysayers claimed, simply could not exist, even on the most powerful hardware unveiled by Sony earlier in the conference. It's an elaborate fake, they said. Guess what? It's not. We played it. Fight Night Round 3 is the real deal, and those who couldn't believe that the PS3 could generate such amazing gameplay are about to get another shock: Fight Night Round 3 is also comming to Xbox 360.

The talented crew at EA's Chicago studio began working on the 360 version of Fight Night mere months ago, and already it looks nearly identical to the PS3 footage shown at E3. When finished, the two versions should be practically indistinguishable."
