    Thanks for the find.

To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed. If they had actually shown real in-game footage then maybe, but making a short video doesn't get me excited. And the hooks and punches all looked the same.
Plus, that's not at all how their fight would go down. Both guys were throwing one bomb at a time and not moving much at all. I know that they choreographed the fight with big shots as a promotional tool but it did nothing for me because of what I mentioned above.

If EA wants me to get excited for this game or wants me to purchase it I would have rather seen a video showing you create a fighter and then going through all the options on how to build him up and get him to be champ. They would have shown the fighter preparing in a gym, sparring, running, hitting the mits, looking at footage of his opponent. And then maybe show me a calendar marking all the scheduled fights.

I know I haven't played the game yet but I have a feeling that Round 3 will be nothing more than Round 2 with better graphics, and a few more annoying unrealistic 'super' punches. Flash KO anyone?

Unfortunately that IS what EA does. They try to lure you into buying something different ABOUT the game, rather than a truely copmplete new game.

I think this was more of a shock post, he probably won't be posting back in here until he finds some other way to bash on the game.

The way EA works is this: implement a few changes, remove a few working features. Spend a ton of money on promotionals and "if it's in the game..." crap. When THAT doesn't work, spend all their money on their competition. MaddenOPOLY NFL FOOTBALL, anyone?

Well, the game DOES look good but it appears to have the jerkiest looking gameplay and softest punches yet in the series.

I truly hope it's still being refined.

                    Sorry to disappoint you.

I'm not saying thingst just to bash EA but because we saw the same things with Round 2. Everyone went bonkers over the demo for that version too and it wasn't a good game.

Also, if Round 3 does turn out to have great gameplay it still won't solve my problem. I don't play online and I don't play multiplayer so the career mode would have to be great to keep my interest. But since the career mode appears to be super weak again there's no replay value in this game for me.
It's still going to be the same sequence of 'train-fight-buy stuff'. The training is still laughable. Like B-Hop is going to prepare for a championship bout by only working a heavybag.

So far the only thing that's been mentioned about the career mode is the rivalries and ESPN classics. There has been no mention of a deeper training module, multiple belts, scheduling, etc.
I will say that I did read that you are supposed to be able to watch tape of you opponents. This hasn't been confirmed but that would be cool if it was.

But if the only changes made to the career mode are watching tape, ESPN classics and punching your opponent during the weigh-in, then I'll pass.

To me, if a boxing game has a weak career mode it's like only being able to play one season in a football game. That would be unacceptable to Madden fans, so why isn't it with boxing fans?

Now, maybe the career mode has been revamped greatly and Kudo and EA have decided not to speak about it yet, but I don't think this is the case. They would have revealed this along with all the other changes. But I hope I'm wrong.

P.S. Please tell me how I proved your point. You said I was here simply to start a fight and then leave. I have done neither. I pointed out what I didn't like about the video and I've responded to your threads.
And I also noticed that you failed to address my points about Hopkins and RJJ exchanging big shots. Roy has never done that and B-Hop is anything but a power puncher. If that really was in-game footage then I'm more worried than ever. When we fight RJJ for the belt we'll be doing it in the middle of the ring trading bombs.

And like I've mentioned above, my main concern is the career mode. And so far Kudo and EA have shown no indication that it will be any less pathetic than it has been over the past two installments.

No I haven't. But before I get flamed for making judgements on something I haven't played I want to make sure that I point out again:

                            1. Last years Demo got rave reviews but the game ended up being a disappointment.
                            2. My main concern is career mode. Unless the demo has a full functioning career mode I don't see where playing it will help eleviate this concern.
                            3. I don't know how anyone that has played the demo has any right saying it's going to be incredible when they haven't tried it online, or against any other fighters other than Hopkins and RJJ.

That's cool about the info you have found out about the career mode. For me the meat and potatoes of the game will lie in the multiplayer aspects, online and offline. Creating players is cool and all, but it's not really my thing. The game plays pretty well offline against a friend, but Madden online on the 360 is pretty subpar.

As far as exchanging big shots, neither of them fight like that with the computer AI. I'm pretty sure the "actual game footage" they have in the trailer is controlled by humans.

You proved my point by making your next post have negative criticism against the game. That was my initial point. We've yet to see if the career mode is weak since information is still pretty limited on this mode of the game. Now that it's come to light that you haven't played the game it seems that you're a little biased against EA in my opinion.
