Most boxing games uses the same punch animation for all boxers. Sometimes they will throw a different style but mostly boxers are models for comestic / esthetic purposes. In Fight Night 3, They have motion caption Roy Jones Jr perfectly. His body movement, his stance ( right glove to the chin, left arm along his body) and his famous signature punch (taunt with arm extended in the back followed by a left out of nowhere). He was capture so realisticly that I found myself rolling in the rope while couter-punching.
They have slow the pace of the game which is welcome changes. I always thought that FN was too fast. Boxing is a slow sport. It's all about strategy. Talkin about strategy, you can now change stance on the fly, Want to go southpaw ? no problem just hit LB and your are now a lefty. This bring a new dimension to boxing games.
The A.I was definetaly improved. Bernard Hopkins saw that I was rolling extremly well on the rope (like Jones Jr always do) that he backed up everything i stayed on the rope. I have watch so many fight with Jones Jr or Hopkins and they have mimic they fighting style very well. Of course Hopkins sometimes fight in very different style so it's you don't see the apparent diffence compare to Jones Jr.
Of course the graphics speak for itself and is as impressive as the screenshot you have seen on the internet. The lighting is excellent. The boxers models are very well done, I have no complaint. You might notice a few clipping now and then but you have to keep in mind this is a demo.
FN 03 looks very promising indeed.If they put the same effort and attention to all other boxers like they did with Roy Jones Jr, it's going to be phenomenal.
