New Article about Career mode at IGN

Not a lot of new or exiting info in there. The review talks about amateur bouts like it is a new thing so who knows if he even played the game much last year.

    Little things I noticed:
    * The reviewer's career mode record is 42-2 with 42 knockouts. Looks like another knockout fest, but lets just hope he is playing on easy?
    * The reviewer has fought 44 fights in career mode and his boxer is only 30 years old. I seem to remember that last year it was pretty hard to get that many fights in, at least before age 30, so maybe you can schedule more fights in career mode than previous years.
    * Despite the fact that the career mode boxer is 42-2 he has pretty low popularity.
    * Adding career mode rivalries to the ESPN Classic section was a nice touch
    * The press conference "fights" will get old. Quickly. I can already see people crying foul the first time Sugar Ray Leonard or Ricky Hatton starts a fight at a press conference.

Good... maybe his 42-2 record is attributed to playing crappy fighters.

I wonder how your fighters popularity is guaged? He has a 100% KO percentage so it must be quality of fights. Maybe he padded his record by fighting tomato cans?

      Anyway, thanks for the link!

This is what I think. 42-2 should have incredibly high popularity if not contender status unless he is fighting tomato cans.

I agree, but it doesn't look like he's a 'local celebrity' the picture shows him as being "Champ." Maybe the light heavyweight division is unpopular in the game? I wonder if there are any differences between current-gen and next-gen career modes?

Other than graphics, there are no differences.

Actually there is one pretty big difference if you are going for realism.

Next Gen does not have health and stamina bars, instead you "feel and see" how your fighter is doing.

They said they were unable to make the emotions of the boxers realistic enough in current gen, so you still have the 2 bars.

I can only hope the stamina bar is improved upon so people can't throw hundreds of haymakers with little consequence.

Seems thta we have a little more control over the matches at least.
