Does anyone here use the face buttons?

I had never played FN before, so when I first played, I used the face buttons. The hooks were awesome, the counters would be a guaranteed hit, you could be really precise and move very well.. but.. no special punches and a little slower on the blocking..

So I've been trying to use the analog stick, but it's really imprecise. It's kind of difficult to throw that right hook at the correct time.. but it does help blocking and use of special punches becomes an option with the analog stick..

So what do you all do?

some consider the face buttons as cheating. i use both and have beaten guys online and offline with buttons and the analog stick. use what gives you the best advantage. its your game.

I like the idea of both boxers letting eachother know what they are using. This of course would apply to online matches. That way, you have no excuses. Some friends and I had a small league that required use of the stick and limited haymakers/special punches.

Round 3 demo was my first experience with Fight Night (I've been missing out!) and I've been using the analog sticks, only. I love the control scheme.

Sticks all the way for me. I find them to be incredibly intuitive and responsive.... in fact, I can't even play the game with the buttons....

As far as the buttons being cheating... I'm not sure I call it cheating per se, but it tends to take the realism out of the game for me when I'm playing against someone who uses them; it's easy to spot, too, because they'll generally throw the same punch in an unrealistic rapid succession -- non stop.

At least that's how it was last year. Hopefully it's not like that this year.

I think if people really put some time into getting comfortable with the sticks, they'd have a hard time going back to the buttons...

Cant imagine the buttons being called cheating. I cant use anything but the stick. Cant do uppercuts with the button too good it seems.

Can someone explain the basics of the control system on the 360 - especially with the sticks.

I have never played the FN series before, and I just can't seem to figure out how to throw and block, etc. I have looked on-line for a control system - but to no avail.

How do you switch your configs for online play? I like to play with config 3 but when I try and play online it switches back to config 1. Any help would be appreciated.

I did use buttons back on FN1, but now I'm using the stick.

there should be online settings in the main online screen... go to "game config" and the only thing it'll let u adjust is the joystick config.
