i like the point limit idea, but i don't know how it can be enforced. at the matchup screen online it's not like you're able to see the other persons attributes. i'm not saying that anyone would be dishonest...well actually yes i am. i'm sure there would be someone out there who wouldn't follow the guidelines.

Heavyweights, I think created boxer w/olimitationsbecauseany otherway you will have guys cheating. And even if nobody cheated, if a guy was unbeatable, than the allegationsof cheating would always be present. Its a no win situation.

Then again.. You could just use, say for example, middleweights and just let everyone use 100% on everything. Sure, no one has to make choices about what they want to have advantages in, but everyone would be even this way..

Is there a rule you have to use the sticks to punch because I think that should definately be one.

I don't think the buttons give you an advantage. I fought a button guy today. He threw very fast combos but he was terrible blocking and could not throw haymakers or special punches very well. Uppercuts were also rare. It is very easy to either lean out and counter or catch him with impact punches. They can't switch from offense to defense quickly so I don't see any advantage to it..

I suck with the sticks. I use the bottons and the sticks for impact punches. I've gotten pretty good at it but my online record is 8-13 so I dont have much of an advantage.

I think probably the beggining or middle of next week should give ppl enough time to get the game and play enough of it to learn the controls. We can get it started by then.

I guess Middleweights it is. I was thinking about the created fighter thing to. I certainly sure there will be someone who cheats. So I guess we can roll with the real fighters.

I voted for light heavyweight. We have a local group of friends who play
each other and the light heavy weight class was right for us because of
the weight range(169-191). Only one guy was smaller than this and we just
pretend he has been hitting the weight room. Heavyweights just look too
big to me this year. Middleweights seem a bit too small for the average male.
Seems to me the majority of guys would fall inside the light heavyweight class.
I'm 6' and weight 185. I would look like a rail if I were to actually get down
to 169 to make the middle weight cut.

We also use custom boxers. We use our actual height and weight and
give ourselves 500 points to spread around the attributes with a max of 90
points in any particular attribute.
We allow the use of any gear available and only use TPC for control.

I realize there would be no way to know for sure if someone was padding the
stats above the allowed points, but I'm sure the vast majority would be
honest. Using the stock boxers just wouldn't work IMO. RJJ vs RJJ, etc...
That would be silly...
I'd also vote we turn off the cutman feature, I like to smoke a few drags
off my cig between rounds

If we used customs, everyone could take a photo of thier boxer on the
attribute screen. Then we could post them so each of use would know the
strength's and weaknesses of each other..
