the difficulty question: is IGN right?

So for those of you who have the game; is it as easy as IGN says it is? I'd love to have some direction before I drop my $59.99.

Its not as easy IGN makes it out to be. I'll say this though, if you fight the cpu AI like the cpu fights you, you'll get much more out of this game. I do have a feeling that it could get easy after mastering the controls, in which some of you might have done last year. All EA games lose the difficulty after a while if you ask me.

I got knocked out by Ali with Frazier in the fourth round in my first fight on medium, after playing the demo to death, and fight night rds 1 and 2, so IGN is wrong...

I'm not the greatest player on this game, but I lost on easy. I was KO by Dela hoya in the 7th. It was my first game and I have played every series. By the way this is on 360.

yea its harder than they say...but im very advanced in this game...i've been ranked number 1 at one point on fight night round 4 and they all pretty much play the same as far as the core gameplay...so if its challenging to me..it should definately be challenging to the average gamer....

Most of the time though..if u fight like the fighter ure using..it will be easier to win...we all know ali cant sit and slug with frazier...if u do so...you'll most likely lose....which is great

Re: the difficulty question: is IGN right?

I found the game to be somewhat easier to play. It's still challenging even on medium difficulty. I had a awesome fight last night with Ali(me) vs Frazier and just like the first of their three battle classics Ali(me) was ahead on points going into the 8th round. Frazier picked up the pace and in the 11th round I got tagged with a left hook and dropped Ali to the canvas. I couldn't stand the suspense and so I let the AI battle it out and in the 12th ALI ko'd Frazier.

I switched over to AI vs AI because I felt like my guy ALI wasn't going to last. Keep in mind their are some really good human fighters who find this game incredibly easy even on HARD but i'm not in that group and it's a good thing cause it lets me enjoy the game.

IGN is wrong, it's not that easy on default, at least not for me. I love the difficulty level as i've won some and lost some, seems about right to me.

Just got it after work today and ust finished 3 fights.

IGN is wrong. I've played every FN and I struggled in my 3 fights. I was 1-2 in these "exhibition" fights.

I'm 20-0 (20 KO's) in career mode with Oscar De La Hoya on hard (XBox 360). A couple of fighters gave me some challenges, but I think I found the perfect haymaker that really bleeds the life out of my opponents.

It's a great game and a lot of fun though. I'm going to start over and build my own boxer with a different style and see how it goes.

By the way....I played the first Fight Night for about 5 days on the XBox and didn't touch Round 2.

I would get it for the online/multiplayer play alone. It's just that good.

Yep. I'm playing on 'hard' now, and I'm 1-1 as a professional welterweight. The guy I lost to used the Philly Cross and it was tough getting punches through. Looking forward to trying again, though.

I am playing on hard as well and in my first professional fight it went the full 6 rounds and ended up being a draw. Seems to be pretty good difficulty wise so far.
