There's no hype when you fight for the belt or even win it. You don't see yourself carrying the belt into the ring with you.
You can't see rankings and the rivalry mode is a joke.
The gameplay is an improvement in some regards but I feel the new gimmicy punches that are added each year such as Flash KO and Stun punch are terrible. Any fighter, no matter how hurt they are, or how pathetic their power ratings are can you knock you out or stun you at any time in the fight.
If you play online, that's where I would spend 100% of your time. Because if you're like me, and you do all your gaming offline against the computer then you would be wise to save your money and rent the game instead of buying.
Rent it for a week and in that time you'll have exhausted the pathetic career mode 5 times over.
The training is pathetic, the non-ranking system is pathetic and I'm still angry at the fact that I can buy whores, boots and other apparel to increase my attributes.
I can't wait until Madden allows me to buy golden shoulder pads so I can run over any opponent. Or maybe their NHL series will allow me to buy a silver stick that shoots 400 mph laser beams and decapitates anyone that tries to block it.
Like I said, the gameplay has improved for the better in some ways but I will not be buying this game as a $50.00 upgrade from the original Fight Night game.
It still sickens me to see how Kudo views this sport. HBO boxing, Ring King, Evander Holyfield boxing, heck Ready 2 Rumble was more realistic in regards to how the sport is portrayed than Fight Night Round 3.
For those that are enjoying the game, I'm glad. Somebody should. But for me, as an offline gamer, this game is a terrible disappointment. Kudo should be fired for things he's taken away and not bothered adding.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to keep fighting so I can buy Whore#4 to give my stamina a boost.
