Tournament - fair settings, recommended format.

I got a 100" hi-def projection TV at my nightclub. To bump up normally boring Tuesday nites, I've got an Xbox360 and am gonna start running tournaments. (FN:R3 to start, then PGR3, etc)

I'm starting small, more for fun, etc.... no cash prizes, gift certs for the club, a copy of the game and club merch. as prizes. Am thinking of 16 players to start, single elimination.

Am wondering about settings, ratings, knockdown rules, etc. I want it to move fast so I prolly can't allow corner fixes, etc. I need to have it over in 3 hrs or less.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, anyone ever played in a tourney in a bar/club setting? EA Tourney?

I was thinking of creating a choice of 4 different CUSTOM boxers, with different styles / looks, but the SAME ratings to make it fair and about boxing skill. I plan to run any config they want, but have to create cheat sheets for all 6 if I do that.

    What else?

To speed things up, use the auto cutman. For the custom boxers, you should give them all solid power/speed/agi/etc.. but low cut, body, heart, and chin ratings. That way, the fights will be only a few rounds on average.

Set the controller configuration to 3(heavy on button punching), particularly if some of your customers are new to the game.
Turn Auto Recovery ON so your fighter automatically gets up (or doesn't) from a knockdown.

That's actually a good idea, you may be able to go as low as a 3 round fight, although I wouldn't overdo it on the lowering of the cut, body, heart, and chin ratings. You want the abilty to have a decision. My suggestion for your custom boxers would be to have a POWER fighter, a SPEED fighter, and a BALANCED fighter. You could even have your contestants have 3 fights with each one of them.

I dunno. If he's at a nightclub, no one there watching is going to want to see decisions and stuff. It's going to be fun to watch people get lit up especially since a lot of the people there won't know anything about fight night or boxing in general.
