I just got a draw and something is weird about it

I just had one of the best fights in this game for the 360. I am Roy Jones in my career and I had to fight Boone to move up from Light Heavyweight to Heavyweight. The fight went the distance and know one got knocked down the whole fight. With 10 seconds left my opponent hit me with a massive combo that stunned me, but I clinched right away and the fight ended soon after. I threw 812 punches and he threw 772. Which isn't bad for a 12 rounder in this game.Well I always thought a draw was when all three cards matched, but I guess i was wrong or there is a error with this game. The judge gave these scores below.

    Roy Jones 114
    Boone 114

    Roy Jones 116
    Boone 112

    Roy Jones 114
    Boone 114

Shouldn't I won the fight or is there a rule if 2 of the three judges score's match it is a draw? Have any of you guys had a draw alson in this game?

My record is now 40-13-1 with 36 K.O. with Roy Jones Jr.

    A draw happens whenever:

    * One scorecard is even and then each fighter wins on one of the cards (117-111, 114-114, 113-115)
    * Two judges score the fight even and one fighter wins on the last card (114-114, 114-114, 113-115)
    * All three judges score the fight even (114-114, 114-114, 114-114)

Your draw happened because a MAJORITY of the judges ruled it a draw, thus the term, MAJORITY DECISION.

It is a draw when two judges score the fight a tie, it doesn't matter what the 3rd judge scores. a stupid rule if you ask me, but a rule none-the-less.

why is it stupid? I think its a good rule. 1 guy shouldnt choose the winner if the other two have it a tie.

Actually I'm wrong. The Wikipedia article that I referenced explains that your situation is technically a MAJORITY DRAW.

I was wrong on a couple of counts. To sum it up:
Majority Decision-2 of the 3 judges agree on which boxer won the match, while the 3rd judge scores it a draw.
Split Decision- 2 of the judges go with one fighter as the winner, the 3rd judge goes with the other fighter as the winner.
Majority Draw-2 judges score it a draw, the 3rd judge gives it to one of the fighters.

a split decision is a draw until the last scorecard is read..it's the same thing here. it's stupid because you have 3 judges, you don't just disregard the 3rd judges scorecard because the other 2 agree...why not apply the same principals with a split decision??here you have the judes split with the decision hanging on the last scorecard, just as it does in a "majority draw",but they don't disregard the scorecard then??...it's not fair to the fighter who wins. the judges don't compare notes, they sit alone and submit the cards individualy. there should only be 2 ways to get a draw and that's iof all judes have the same score or if the judes split and one scores it even.a majority draw makes no sense at all.

There are 3 judges so there is always a majority. A majority draw happens because the MAJORITY thought the bout was a draw. The MINORITY thought the bout was one by one fighter. A split decision occurs because the MAJORITY of the 3 judges picked 1 fighter and the MINORITY picked the other. Why would a bout that was picked a draw by two fighters and not by the other be awarded to one fighter over the other. Its like democracy, the majority rules.

Thanks for clearing things up for me guys. This is my first draw ever in a boxing game. Have you guys ever got a draw in a 12 round fight? IF I won the last round I would of won all three cards, but I was facing a strong opponent and I tried to stand a distance from him so I could win the fight by descion. I also said to myself right before the fight was over that it would be a first to go 12 rounds without anyone getting knock out and it did happpen. Barley b/c he almost knock me out in the last 10 seconds. Next time I would like to have fight go the distance without even a stun which almost happend.

I was about to retire my fighter b/c he lost 4 fights in a row and was getting in his mid 30's, but then all of sudden my guy was getting better with age and won 4 rough fights in a row.

McGee got it right on this one. The judges determine the outcome of the fight based on majority. If the majority thinks Fighter A won, then he gets the win. It is no different with the majority of the judges thinking it was a draw.
