Help with the first person mode please?

I know what I am about to say is gonna get a lot of responses like read the turtorial or that is easy, but I am having a problem doing it. My problem is that I cannot get my boxer in the first person mode. It says to start on the right stick crank it back further then a haymaker and then follow threw. I do this and make contact but I cannot get my boxer in the first person mode. What am I doing wrong? Does my opponent have to be stunned or does he have to have a little energy left? Some help here would be appericated. I fought 50 fights and only once was able to do this. Another thing is why does the cpu never get in the first person mode either?

If you got 2 controllers, play alone but set it up as 2 players. Practice on the unused player2 until you get the hang of it. Rematch as much as possible.

Do that and post back in the morning.
